STILL THE CLASSIC I REMEMBER

Max Payne is a classic third-person shooter that I was curious to try on the PC, since I had played it on an older console before. This was my first time exploring some of the older games on steam, and I was not disappointed. I have been a fan of Max Payne for years, and I wanted to relive his dark and gritty story.

*The other reviews
I read some reviews before buying the game, and I saw that some people had issues with launching the game or getting it to run properly. I did not encounter any of those problems. The game ran smoothly and looked great, considering its age. I did notice a few minor bugs, like not being able to switch my weapons sometimes, but nothing that ruined the experience.

* Need To Know
-The game does not support controllers, which made it more challenging but also more rewarding. I had to get used to the keyboard and mouse controls, which added to the difficulty and realism of the game. Some people who only use controllers might find this frustrating, but I think it adds to the charm of the game.

- Don't forget to quick save

-If you mute the music it also mutes the story dialogue which really takes away from the game a bit

I bought the trilogy, and I am looking forward to playing the other two games as well. Max Payne is a game that deserves to be played by anyone who enjoys action, drama, bullet time and a great story. It is a masterpiece of its genre, and I highly recommend it to any looking to experience the start of greatness.

I hope this review helps.

Played a little bit of this prior to me purchasing here on steam but after reading the positive reviews and seeing it on sale I decided to get it. I don't fully know what i expected but I guess firefighter sim missed with fresh start (cleaning simulation game).

In the beginning it starts by telling it's story in the format as if you were reading a book. for me this was refreshing as I'm currently getting back into reading. I like the idea of what they did just not how it was executed. I think if we had more choices to make with more flexible options it would've made the story feel more like our own. Most times I would answer a question expecting a certain character tree just for the story to completely negate my decision with the next scene.

I did however enjoy the intro character story. I was thrown off at how me walking in a Forrest in between cut scenes for a brief second had anything to do with the story the were telling. I get he was going after etc but why during the intro?

The game does have a great look and feel to it although it is very simple controls.

There was a part in the game that threw me off a bit.
***SPOILER***
You end up seeing fireworks going of in the sky. You are asked to track down the people/person responsible. You end fighting a trail of clothes and undergarments. Once walking down a bit further you spot what appears to be two naked woman. The game labels them as drunks teens. Not the biggest deal as they could be 18 but still kinda weird.

After playing the game for a bit and refreshing my memory on it I'm not really feeling the urge to finish or complete the game.
