I've played Forewarned on and off since its initial release in September and it brings me genuine joy to say that the devs have done nothing but improve upon the game since then.

When I first started playing, I felt it was confusing and creepy, but never really scary (besides Necreph). That's changed a lot since then with added enemy types, a wonderful upgrade to the ambience and not to mention the added chances for things to jump out at you. I would propose with good reasons that this game is now more effective at creating tension and suspense than games like Phasmophobia.

You can play Forewarned either alone or with friends and I would argue that it is just as scary in both versions. That being said though, I believe Forewarned is best experienced with friends, this is definitely when fun is at its peak. Managing to conquer the Mejai through banishment, once you're experienced enough, is way more entertaining with a couple of friends vs alone as you feel like you have overcome an ordeal together.

This may be a cliche thing to say, but I genuinely believe Forewarned allows you to experience what raiding a haunted Egyptian tomb would feel like. Or at the very least give you an experience as close to one as what a video game can portray.

If it isn't obvious already, i'd highly recommend Forewarned to anyone who likes horror games, or even just co-operative games to play with friends. At its current price I think its more than worth your money and time.
