Perfect idea - trash execution.
Always wanted dark grim dungeon crawler game where you can kill other people(one of reasons why Dark souls series are my favorite games of all times). Amazing concept and got lots of place to grow.

However.... You can describe whole game-play loop in one word... JANK...
- Mob animations and behavior is so janky that combat turns into turn based combat where you hit mob and then back away and wait for him to swing and repeat all the action until mob dies... which is rubbish.
- Clunky character movement. Although you can increase movement speed with a dedicated skill or equipment, it's not saves the clunky feeling of your character moving like lawnmower. No Strafing to the sides, no sprint button, jumping feels sticky and has no flow.
- Sword play is unresponsive, slow and lack the impact. Most often you are not even sure if it connected and only indicator for it is blood splatter (even from skeleton) or a sound.

As i was saying game only redeeming quality is idea and atmosphere. Other than that game needs to improve it combat take some notes from vermintide in relation to mob attack pattern and behavior. As well as strafing and dogging mechanics from Vermintide. Sword play would be best if they take notes for fun immersive first person combat games such as Chivalry would recommend adding stamina bar and attacks as well as dodges and sprinting would consume it.

In addition monetization it is blatant cash grab to let people play for free but there is so much limitations that it just shows how much they don't care about game it self but wanna force people to buy it to access smallest life improvement features or even play most popular mode.

I would recommend just to play some of free version but not invest money to it as devs don't polish game and just looking for new ways to milk players for cash (skins, emotes etc.)

Best CA creation. Doubt they will make something better.

Cons: Mortal empires turns take for ever but if you got monster rig its not an issue.

Suggestion: If wanna just play campaing i suggest downloading mod ''GrimHammer'' Enchances gameplay and is lore friendly.

Beat game in 37 hrs other 10 hrs was meniu loading and me eating AFK.

Not planing to play it again.

Its not Chivalry.

Its more Taken 7 with swords.

If not plaing to play it a lot or spend 30€ on it. Just pass it.
Needto buy funders pack to unlock characters. No other way to unlock them.

If you hate 4x strategy games(x-com, endless legend) then pass it.
