UPDATE (23rd sep 24):
In its current form, the game is worth picking up, it had undergone some massive changes and improvements, and more have been announced to be coming soon.

At its current form, do not pick up this game:
- Has some major gameplay problems
-Stealth is completely broken
-Weapon balancing is off the chart
-Certain skills are either completely useless or overpowered
-Certain heists are broken
-Lots of other small issues here and there I wont get into
- Has UI problems
- Generally just feels like an incomplete unfinished product
-The new matchmaking system/finding lobbies is absolute trash even if you compare it to PDTH
-The tone of the game misses out on everything it tries to be
->The game attempts to go back to its more serious roots (pdth style) in which it partially succeeds
->The amount of wacky ♥♥♥♥ they added clashes with it directly (standing in a circle for shade to do voodoo
magic and open doors, looking for phones to open qr codes, I mean seriously there's more ridiculously
stupid ♥♥♥♥ in this game than in pd2)
->I wouldn't mind either if it kept the goofy tone pd2 had or the serious one pdth had, but they somehow
managed to mess up making it indistinguishable in any way (however, you could say pd3 has its own unique tone which
is plainly just stupid (not serious nor goofy, just chaotic that's lacking any identity)


EDIT:
I forgot one of the biggest problems about the game (kinda started taking it for granted now so it flew off my mind):
-Custody is completely broken
->In pdth, custody was a very rough mechanic that punished you heavily for making mistakes
->In pd2, custody has been nerfed to become a minor inconvenience
->In pd3 you are REWARDED for going into custody, its not even a penalty - the best strategy once you run out of resources is having 1 guy hide somewhere whilst everyone else juggles in and out of custody to get free resources, its insanely stupid and clearly not been thought through at all.

In summary:
The game is an unfinished mess at the moment, but its fun so it does have potential - I'd suggest to hold off on buying it for now, perhaps in a few years it'll be under a good enough state/price for it to be a worthwhile purchase.
