Though the graphics have not aged well, this game is a fantastic open-concept game where the player does what they want.
There is no "main quest". Instead, you decide what kind of player/person you want to become, and go for it.

If you can ignore the graphics (which are not the worst ever), this game can provide endless medieval-esque fun.

And, of course, the Steam Community has a plethora of fantastic mods, some of which essentially create a brand-new game.
