has been the best iso-ARPG out there since it first became available
(but nothing will replace my love for grim dawn)

for information purposes, there's an offline mode, but you cannot transfer characters between offline and online. I've seen a few people upset about that fact, but it's understandable to me.

The best multiplayer (and singleplayer, honestly) jigsaw I've played. Huge 'canvas' to work on with the ability to easily section off pieces as you go. You can use custom images and it's simply so easy to work through any kind of puzzle because of simple quality of life that somehow doesn't exist in most paid jigsaw games.

I've always loved the SMT games (they're some of my favorites), and was never a fan of playing Persona games (but enjoy watching them to see the differences). This game is essentially the perfect balance between the two, incorporating a lot of the things I enjoy about each series (I probably should've taken note of what those things were).

I managed to do just about everything with the time system, you can check my achievements if you're curious (I won't be trying to get others for a little while). I wasn't too strict with what I did with the days, I only made sure I finished a dungeon completely before I left. I've seen some people complain about not being able to get MP back easily, and I just want to say that there are a few ways to do so without spending an extra day to leave the dungeon. Of course, you still might want to keep your MP use in mind (at least I did), but it's not as bad as some of these reviews I've seen sound.

The story was interesting right off the bat, which I was honestly a bit worried about before buying because I usually dislike or get bored of stories that involve politics. I never disliked any of the main characters, and the story as a whole made me feel ~ e m o t i o n s ~ all the way through. The way it ended (just spoilering the way I feel about the ending, doesn't spoil the ending itself) was satisfying while also setting it up in a way that I wouldn't be surprised if they added more, in terms of sequels or otherwise. I had a huge smile on my face after the credits rolled. If you didn't look at the spoiler, note: there is a post credits scene. I know some people would alt+f4 because you can't skip the credits, and I don't know if it'll play the scene if you do so.

My save itself had ~150 hours or so on it by the time I finished, and I don't regret a single second of it ♥

I played on an easier difficulty (can't remember if it was the easiest or the second one) and I still felt overwhelmed after only a few minutes. Not being able to go back into any store you visited is also a weird... difficulty? choice...
I would have loved collecting the stickers, but you have to drag each one over while the timer for the people's requests are still going down. Considering the stickers don't seem to be much other than the collecting, they should at least not basically count against you for getting them (although it is kind of just stealing stickers off of other people's stuff).

All in all, it's simply way too difficult and you get overrun by items very quickly (even though the easier difficulties are slower??) which ends up making it really difficult making any kind of money for anything.

I don't normally play this type of game and there's nothing that would make anyone think I would like it.. But I loved every second of this and wanted more of it.

There are settings to make things easier to handle for people like me that don't enjoy bullet hells, among other things. The same settings are probably in the demo, so try it out.
(Best with controller.)

I'm sad to give this a negative, but sadly the game was just.. so incredibly boring, and I was even playing with other people around, which normally adds to a game's entertainment (for me). To be a tiny itty bit more constructive, there just wasn't any reason for me to care about any of the characters. Whenever I got a bit of story, I was usually just thinking "okay... and..?" 'cause why would I care? I don't know any of these people and have zero connection to them. Most of my entertainment was pretending the cat hated whatever was happening, like yelling at humans for picking it up.
When there was, well, I'll call it "action", it was only interesting for the initial few seconds of it. I'm honestly not even sure how I would go about fixing that, so I'm sorry I couldn't be any more helpful in that regard. The best I've got is "maybe more story background in the beginning..?"

I really wanted to like it, and finish it, but after I stopped playing the first time (I was getting tired and nothing in the game itself was keeping me awake), I have not wanted to launch it again. Unfortunately it will probably stay unfinished.

Absolutely worth every dollar, and I'm a cheapskate.

Don't expect much difficulty until ~chapter 3 or 4.

After spending almost 200 hours in the original SMT V on Switch, I can't stop fangirling to all my friends about every little detail and how amazing it looks in comparison. I've been counting down this release since it was announced, and despite all of my excitement, I am not disappointed! Playing at 60 FPS with no lag is (big surprise) amazing. I look forward to experiencing all the new things this version has added! Happy to see my watermelon pig again <3

~30 hours in:
Started second main area! I don't know the pace of most people, but I have definitely been taking my time with this game, so some people might get to where I'm at in 10 hours or something...
Very few play SMT mainline for the story, but the Vengeance line (taking her hand) is already vastly improved compared to the original! The QoL added in this version is also fantastic! I just keep being impressed by this game, and the original was already my favorite of the year it released ♥ I was worried I wouldn't, but I quite like Yoko as a character so far. Dazai is still the worst..

Mitama DLC:
If you can afford it, whether you're playing here or on console, the Mitama DLCs are extremely helpful in mitigating any grind you might need to do in the future; they can be enabled and disabled in-game at will, without reloading anything! (tip: bring spyglasses or almighty) "Miracles" is the lesser of the three, as it gives a currency that you won't need more than what the game normally gives you (through exploration, mostly) if you're not trying to use every single element in the game on your MC (which is impossible to do all at once). I believe EXP is the best of the three, but not that far ahead of Wealth.

One of the better point & click puzzle games I've played. Everything is voiced and there weren't any moments I can recall where I thought something didn't make sense. Definitely on the easier side, but some of the puzzles were actually *really* cool with some great "aha!" moments! If you're just looking for a challenge, I'd look elsewhere, but if you just want a cozy puzzle game with a bit of humor, likable (lovable!?) characters, and a pretty good story, look no further, especially if it's on sale!
