Gameplay not as fun as Sekrio, open world not as detailed as Breath of the Wild, story not as thoughtful as RDR2, and presentation not as polished as Elden Ring. Despite all this there is still a lot to be had in this game, even if it feels a little under baked compared to its contemporaries.

a beautiful exploration of the human condition

cyberpunk looks like a modern AAA open world game on the outside, but under the hood it feels like one of those old janky RPGs from the 2000s.

pros:
- open world is beautiful, especially at night.
- movement is really fun, especially after unlocking double jump and air dash. bhopped through the whole game.
- skill tree is well done, good variety of actually unique builds.
- performance is good, only crashed twice in 50 hours. easily pushed 100+ fps on my out of date PC with FSR quality mode.
- enjoyed all the music references and fun easter eggs.
- driving is satisfying, wish there were more races as the few the game had were very fun.
- soundtrack is enjoyable, especially the atmospheric music that plays during some missions. really enjoyed the jazz radio station as well, just wish there was more tracks.


cons:
- way too much yapping. dialogue is corny and characters are mostly annoying. i starting mashing through conversations half way through the game.
- story choices ended up not really mattering most of the time. even the big decision between three backgrounds you make during character creation has little consequence beyond the first hour of the game.
- tried sticking to a stealth playstyle, but realized it was pointless and just started going in loud to get the game over faster. there are no consequences for just killing everyone instead of doing stealth takedowns.
- side quests are mostly copy paste "go here, kill this guy/steal this item, come back" monotony.
- game could have been half as long, every mission involves minutes of just driving to get to the next quest marker (or just fast traveling everywhere and sitting through loading screens).
- VERY glitchy, couldn't go 10 minutes without an NPC bugging out, a character randomly stop talking/talk silently, vehicles disappearing right in front of you, items randomly disappearing from inventory, music playing when its not supposed to/two music tracks playing at once, etc.

overall:
the gameplay is fun but monotonous, and the story is lame and game drags on way too long. if you are really bored buy it on sale, but honestly just replay botw or elden ring again and you'll have more fun.
