POE tries really hard. But at the end of the day it is a jumble of too many systems loosely packed together. Too many design choices are intended to make the game punishing. ZERO systems exist to help a new or casual player learn the game. Most of all, the game caters to the 1% most hardcore players.

A new player will not be able to finish the campaign with their first character. They will make a bad character that hits a wall unless they use a guide, which is what 90% of the player base does. This is not the player's fault. It is the game's fault.

I do not recommend this game for anyone who thinks they are casual. This game is designed to punish people who don't want to no-life the game.

If you do decide to play, make sure to find the half dozen web sites out there which are required to reference while playing the game.

If you write ANYTHING on your computer, YOU NEED TO GET GRAMMARLY. I write pretty much ALL DAY every day, and GRAMMARLY makes my writing better. As a student I like that it's FREE.
