Without having dived in so much. This game is awesome and I'm glad that the 10th instalment is finally here! Combat is surprisingly fun as I was bit scared of there only being two characters compared to previous entries. There a some cool dynamics with duo mode and the flow between single and duo makes up a lot of room to make variation to the combos. Port is flawless and just works straight out of the box running on a ryzen 1700 and rtx 2070 super on 3440x1440 resolution. Is this better than Ys 8 so far? Not exactly but it's a very awesome entry to one of my favourite franchises. Music is still a banger and story seems very appealing so far. I just get this nostalgic feeling playing through this games. If you are a Ys fan then this is definitively a worthy title to pick up and play.

I have played plenty of roguelikes and I can gladly say that this is one of the most fun I have had. It absurdly and satisfyingly FUN. It's fast, fascinating and you never know how the next room will be. Bosses and enemies has plenty of variations and it never feels boring. Not the hardest one I have played (or maybe I'm too okay at bullet hells) but it provide just enough fun to not be dull or too hardcore. Weapons are extremely fun to pick up and when you find a combination you like it feel ecstatic. I have no freaking clue about the story and what's happening, but that makes it even better. Music is simply amazing and visual are a top tier. Did I also tell there are tons of secrets?

I haven't so super far into the game, but the only thing that fears me is that it will be rather short amount of time to put for your usual rouguelike. But to be fair, for the price you are paying and what you get (which also includes a dlc) it absolutely worth it.

I don't know, I just feel super excited playing this game and was way beyond my expectations. Team D-13, I want more of this, thanks.

Got this game recommended and gifted from a friend. And sure I was in for a roller coaster ride.

At first I wasn't super impressed and the game doesn't do the best of keeping you hooked from the get go. You start of with rather few "skills" and the game isn't the best of telling you to do your upgrades (which you can do whenever you want). Voice acting is hilarious bad/good but quite charming, difficulty spikes is just weird (but rather nice). Controls felt rough and I feel the devs could put way more polish and care into that and the connecting hits of when you attack. Not the biggest fan of the cover shooter aspects but none the less it's refreshing. I encountered several weird visual glitches (especially for the mini games). Some enemies are just BS and boring to fight against. Story is well, unique to put it so (but engageable enough). Bosses are really a hit or miss in terms of fun.

But somehow the game grows on you really fast if you give it enough time and a chance. The somewhat wonky gameplay loop of doing combos with your handgun and katana felt rather dull, until it didn't. It suddenly clicked and I was in for a very satisfying hack and slash game that felt impactful with every hit you did. The handgun mixes up some rather unique combos but I wished there was slightly more variations of the combo and maybe some more area wise combo to hit multiple enemies. I really like the challenging gameplay and it took me back to times of playing Ninja Gaiden. I played on hard difficulty and sure I got stuck on some parts in the beginning, and you should expect the game to not be easy on you. You'll be actively tested if you understand the core mechanics and I love that. The game will let you now when it doesn't want you to hide behind cover. That's when you pull your katana, rush against the enemies with no fear. The game actively let you explore by yourself on how to approach each situation and enemy. A game that doesn't hold your hand and I love it.

Not gonna say that I won't overlook all the down things of the game, but the game deserves way more praise and attention than the steam reviews gives it of.

Overall, a surprise of a fun game, a diamond in the rough and rather quite enjoyable game.

I don't know what's better, the exploration you took beside a stranger, the astonishing visuals, mind blowing soundtrack or maybe jaw dropping narration. Despite the game length, it delivers an experience like nothing else. A journey not to be forgotten.

Yet another fantastic Ys game for PC and a really good port by XSEED as usual. Smooth crisp and responsive gameplay.

Good gameplay - Check (Different characters, customization, skills and more).

Good music - Check (Which is not a suprise from the talent people at Falcom Sound Team jdk).

Good controllers - Check (Want to mention that is the ability to change the menu's button
icons to match your controller, with the options being Xbox, DualShock, keyboard, and PC classic which is think is fantastic especially for me who have PS4 Controller hooked up).

Good Story - Check (so far!)

Need fix: I stumbled upon a bug where I played in fullscreen 1680x1050 resoultion the letters for the text was moved up and outside the actual letterbox which was kind annoying and made it hard to navigate the menu in the game but fortunately there is borderless fullscreen which cover that and is not affected by this.

I will continue to support this amazing series and I'm really looking forward for Ys 8. Thank you XSEED!

Overall I give this game 9/10 (so far) and if you are a fan of this series you should really get this.
