If you like narrative-oriented games that are close to being visual novels then you may like this. Unique way of telling the story.

Chapters 3 and 4 do a great deal to advance the formula constructed in 1+2. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. It just gets better and better.

Very fun and charming game. I haven't played a game from its time period that feels so feature-rich and alive.

It's an amazing game. It looks great--especially for the time--and the game design is exemplary. Amazing sound design, music, level design, and the story is mysterious and told without much hand holding... the only fundamental part of the game worth criticizing is the combat which is only because its design is dated by twenty years.

Feels good to play. I didn't have much trouble learning.

It's a good game, the best VR game. It's beautiful, user friendly, and generally well designed--but the weapons seem underdeveloped especially compared to Boneworks, a game that is otherwise completely eclipsed by this one. In this game, guns are just fixed to whatever hand is holding them. Also, no melee.

My biggest criticism of the game is its writing. Half-Life has always been a tonally dark series, but HL:A is too quick to discharge tense or harrowing moments with comic relief. It didn't ruin the experience for me, but I'm concerned that valuable emotional experiences could be ironed out of the series, perhaps as a consequence of catering to playtester feelings. I hope that Half-Life 3 (or whatever HLX winds up being) doesn't lean into the more jovial Portal 2-esque style of writing because I personally prefer the tone of HL1 and HL2.

Super fun game, super good music, and very good replay value. WAY better than Dusk, buy this instead!

This game is awesome if you have friends to play it with and if you can cut through the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of bots and toxicity. While CS2 as of July '24 is VERY wanting of features either from CS:GO or entirely new features, I have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of respect for the developers putting in the work to translate CS:GO's amazing core gameplay into an all new engine with technological and gameplay focused improvements.

I haven't played many Roguelites but this game has SO much run variability and is relatively cerebral. BUT fair warning this game is frustrating as ♥♥♥♥... only for the stablest and most committed of gamers. Hint if you're wondering what to go for after finding all the endings: get them all for each character!

P.S. ♥♥♥♥ tainted eden and ♥♥♥♥ J&E, I'd rather watch my whole genitalia be vivisected without anesthesia than get all those marks... but i still will

P.P.S. PLEASE check out Antibirth+++ music mod. Antibirth (mod that the final DLC is based off) soundtrack is one of the best game osts i've heard and tbh the base game's is MID.

Fun game, felt balanced: not too much scarcity or abundance of resources. I love the way it looks.
