Not too far in yet but really digging it so far! Good voice acting and I really dig the artstyle!
The game can be very punny and some will make you groan but all in all it's a cool game!
Waiting for Patch 2 to drop which will add manual saves to the game before continuing.

I have played and beaten this game when it was on EGS.
Just play it. Don't even read the steam description as it spoils what was a surprise on my first playthough.
It's a space adventure mystery game with a whole lot of charm and a sense of discovery like no other.
It was my game of 2019 for sure and now that it's on steam, maybe it will be one of the best games you play in 2020.

I will preface this by saying that I grew up with the Half-Life games as well as its modding scene and they both mean a great deal to me.
So yes, the rose tinted glasses are on.

I spent a great part of my life giving up on Half-Life as a franchise after seeing the direction Valve was taking with DOTA 2 and CS:GO.

But wow, what an amazing game for Half-Life fans.
I know the mandatory VR will irk quite a few people but if you take what Half-Life represents in terms of its impact in advancing game technology and narrative. This is without a doubt a Half-Life game.

The physics interact in the way you want (They have the right "weight" to them) and the visuals are stellar.

The Russel's (Gravity Gloves) are fantastic to use and make me incredibly sad that I can't just yeet a soda can from across the room into my hands once out of VR.

My only real disappointments with the game are some of the environments, as detailed as they are, share a very similar colour pallet and there are rarely changes in the types of places you travel. There is also the lack of melee combat. Yes you read right. There is no form of melee at all. So no you can't recreate that bit from Half-Life 1 where the scientist throws a computer screen at a headcrab. It just won't do any damage. That decision I really don't get.

I also don't understand the decision for changing Alyxs Voice Actor.

Gunplay and scavenging are most definitely the priority here and they nailed it on that end.

I have no regrets whatsoever getting VR for this game. Loved it.

The way they managed to convert the gameplay from 2d to 3d is amazing and I want to support every game those devs make!

So I just finished playing through all the missions as Air Raider and man this is a neato as hell game.
A Must play if you are into cheesy B-movies and just a grand old time in Co-op.
The game is not flawless but it honeslty just adds to the charm in my opinion.
Saldy the keyboard and Mouse controls are grarbage so a Controller is a MUST.
But man is it at all satisfying when you time an airstrike just right to nuke the ever living hell out of hundreds of giant insects or you know... Just slap on some turrets on your tank with the might of Zeus... That's cool too.

You' re in the middle of it. You are all in the room guarding all entrances. Palms are sweaty knees weak arms are heavy. But on the surface your team is calm and rea-ARRRRRRPEEEEEGEEEEE!

I must say without a doubt that Risk Of Rain is one of my favorite games of all time. It has a rogue-light element to it regarding progression, item and charachter unlocks. The gameplay is similar toa 2d-action platformer combined with a MOBA/MMO with cooldowns for your 4 different abilities composing of maily your base attack, a powershot of sorts, a dodge and a über skill. However classes change that quite a bit.

I must say that the pixel art fits perfectly for this game and is complimented with superb animation. The Soundtrack is also an element to this game that I cannot live without. Chris Christodoulou really brings the atmosphere and overall feel to the different levels.

Currently have 70 or so hours clocked into this game and this is one of the few game I plan on 100%

I must say that despite having a few bugs at the time of this review, i can look past those with ease with the amount of enjoyment i have received over the course of my time with this game.

Worth Full Price

I must say that this game was quite a pleasent suprise. It is a must to play co-op with a good friend and go to town in this Commandoesque of a silly storyline but boy is it a fun one. The gameplay is quite satisfying with a variety of abilities and upgrades to maximize the SHOOTBANG. Visuals are quite nice and boy does it show that this is made by the same peeps that made Just Cause.

9/10 Would Punch Line again

Great for some good ol' co-op fun!

Beware if you are epileptic because this is an amazing strobe-light!
