A fun colony management game where you have to design the solutions to problems you have, and hope your dupes build it in time!

The short - if you ever wanted to peek behind the curtain of spaceflight, build insane things that go boom or stick you flag in soil untouched by man or kerbal this is the game for you. KSP leaves the “what and how” of rockets to you, it will suggest things to accomplish but ultimately it is up to you to pick the challenge that you want to overcome.

I have spent far too much time playing KSP, and I’ve realized it’s an odd game. It combines several different games into one sandbox: rocket and plane builder, flight simulator, and space sim. Basically it all boils down to being a NASA simulator as you have to take on all the roles of NASA from astronaut, to engineer, to mission planner and deal with most of the challenges that come with those jobs. Therfore it has a steep learning curve, weight to trust ratios, orbital maneuvers, rendezvous and docking, aero-breaking, and dreaded geo-breaking aka crash landings. But don’t get too intimidated the community loves to help new players learn the basics of space travel and they will walk you through the 101 of, rockets, planes, and whatever else you might need help with.

How ambitious you are drives the difficulty of the game, whether you’re happy just flying by the Mun or do want to land on it or are you sights set on more distant worlds, do plan to bring your crew back or find one way trips to be best budget friendly solution. In KSP don’t be afraid to fail it’s part of the fun, watching a rocket spin out of control and explode, I’ve dragged the broken remains of many a crashed rocket back to Kerbal on their last engines. If something does go wrong and your kerbonauts are stranded, will there be rescue mission? It’s all up to you, the where, how. And will they ever see Kerbal again or will home just be a twinkle in an alien sky.
