Do you like Game of Thrones? If you do, this is game for you. Maybe in pink, but hey, it's totally like Game of Thrones.
If you don't like Game of Thrones, buy it anyways. It's awesome.

My friend have died.
I embarassed myself at the ball.
I have established the best spy network.
My armies crushed everyone.
I was the best at politics.
My bodyguards saved me from bandits.
I died in a duel, just one week before I could finally master the sword.

(I haven't died from cholocate yet, though.)

11/10 would kill them all again.

Metro 2033 is a very good, very atmospheric post apocalyptic FPS.
First of all, go read the book. I'd recommend before playing, but it's your choice. It's a great book.
The game itself... it's average (if maybe not mediocre) FPS, yeah. It has other great aspects though. It's very atmospheric - maybe not like Dark Souls and Morrowind were for me, but definitely one of the most atmospheric games I played. It also comes with some sneaking which I always prefer. The story copies the book, only being much shorter. So, as the book has awesome story, I guess so does the game - I was however unsatisfied with it being shorter. Another thing is the Ranger mode, which brings in some survival aspect. No, you don't need to look for food and such, but bullets are more scarce and and HUD disappears (I love this feature) etc. This game also have some nice achievments, and it's fun getting them.
Overall, it's a great experience, although very short. If you're into atmospheric or post apocalyptic games, go for it. And read the book!
