When Dead by Daylight came out I was 9 years of age and very fond of the horror genre, as one may be in that age. I discovered it very close to it's release date from the romanian youtuber IHATEPINK which I grew up watching.
I used to watch him play everyday 2016-2019, since he hadn't played much after that.
Luckly, No0b3 posted a video that made my dream come true-I too could play Dead by Daylight ...how? You may ask. Well, through Dead by Daylight Mobile which was in a state of total garbage when I played (spring-winter 2020).
I spent around 2000 hours on that game.
I did stop because on 20th of November 2020 I got my first PC and played almost everyday since.
In my opinion the state of the game fluctuated over the years, since it's an asymmetric game, it does make sense.
I'd like to think that before The Twins came out, the game was in a pretty neat situation but I could be biased since those were the first ten days I played (I played exactly 100 hours in those ten days).
During my horrifying playtime of 7000 hours on this account and 1000 across two alternate accounts totaling an astonishing 8000 hours without mentioning the 2000 on Mobile that I never counted in my playtime I have gathered vast knowledge of the gameplay, lore and mechanics and movement became muscle memory.
I also played competitively for around 2 years which was one of my fondest memory to play against twins over and over while getting yelled at ;)
I've always been a fan of the game even in the time period where I would hurt myself when I'd depip from rank 1.
Dead by Daylight has helped me improve my English skill, my social anxiety and it helped me find my best friend. An extra bonus would be that I didn't cause much trouble growing up because I had a constant occupation, Now don't think I lost my prime years in Dead by Daylight because it's only half true, I also do loads of things I enjoy while also being a gamer such as: playing other games, reading, cooking, painting, singing, listening and composing music on top of being a top student and a gothic cat mom of 12 rescued and adopted kitties.
