Great Realistic sim akin to the Old S.W.A.T games. Punishing and stressful in the best ways. recommend if you love those types of games, otherwise it will likely be quite frustrating.

TL;DR Good game, but not as good as PD2 and with less stuff

PAYDAY 3 is a mixed bag, in some ways it does feel like a worthy successor to the 2nd game in the series, significantly better Ai being one, reworked (and in my opinion better) stealth being another, but at the same time it comes with plenty of cons as well.

- No crime.net
- Boring UI that is too large, though still lacking information
- Too much focus on challenges making heisting less rewarding
- Always online even when soloqueing and nebula account requred, i mean... speaks for itself doesn't it?
- The new ping system not being great at spotting guards if they are to hidden behind stuff

Even though these are fair reasons not to buy the game i still believe this is a worth while purchase.

- It retails at 40 euros which is a awesome price considering how many games are 60 or even 70 euros these days.
- The new stealth mechanics are awesome, escorts and different areas are amazing additions to PD2s already great stealth
- Ai changes makes playing a heist, and outsmarting guards and civs feel way more rewarding (even though they are still idiots)
- Modding seems to be reasonably doable (not having worked with it my self) since there were some mods even before the game launched
- The new ping system giving the opportunity to ping all kind off things instead of just guards

The game seems like a great foundation for further development, while being slightly lacking in its current state. There is a learning curve from PD2 to PD3 since movement has changed and it takes some getting used to before you no longer try to stealthy slide behind a guard forgetting that sliding is not a stealthy movement.

If you liked the 2nd game i believe you would like this one as well while it might not be able to scratch exactly the same itch or as well as PD2 does

I somehow haven't ever actually properly played the first portal... what a mistake.
The game might be the best couple hours i have spent in a while, and it holds up amazingly for being 16 years old.
Great puzzles and great ratman 10/10

Great game, and very much worth buying since the devs extended the support for it.
If you like heisting, this is one of the best games i have tried.

A great take on making a different kind of criminal investigation game.
if you like crime investigation games, but think that the typical "who killed this man" is a bit over done, this is a great game for you to pick up and try another kind of investigation simulation.
