It's always interesting to see the differences in development teams. In the original there were aspects that were revolutionary at the time (the rope physics on the boat around Leon's leg, the transformation of the village chief, and Saddler absorbing the bullets and moving them along his skin to his hand) and it's interesting that these three technical achievements were absent in favour of removing these moments or hiding them out of shot.

The original GameCube release was a solid 10 out of 10 in every way when it launched, and still manages to play well today. The PC HD version, running Albert's HD Mod at 4k and 60+fps is fantastic.

So this remake had a lot to go up against. Despite some rather small issues I have with the remake, it does an amazing job of feeling like a brand new modern game and subverting expectations. This may not be the 10 out of 10 the original was when it launched, but it's damn close.

Can't change resolution without it crashing. Doesn't support controller in menu despite it being listed as "Full controller support". Really disappointed.
