Absolute beauty

From game that went under my radar thinking about "hmm it looks ok, but might skip it" to buying it day 1 basically. Amazing characters, amazing atmosphere, great exploration and combat depth and I'm still in ACT 1.

Can't recommend it enough. It really grows on you.

Edit: Well, ACT 2 passed by... what a game. Truly one of the GOATs. 26 hours in and still haven't done ACT 3. Exploring is just so fun and rewarding.

Edit 2: Yes, this is the uncontested GOTY this year.

OST
NARRATIVE
CHARACTERS
GAMEPLAY

It's absolutely deserving your time. You will be emotionally invested withing the 1st hour of the game.

Are you Path of Exile, because you are The Greatest ARPG, or you are The Greatest ARPG because you are Path of Exile?

What pulls this game back is the riddled technical problems. For example DLSS mode are in reverse - performance is quality and quality is performance.

Overall game is impressive open world RPG with very interesting pawn system (kinda reminds me of Nemesis from Mordor Games).

The feeling of venturing around and stumble upon encounters is great, albeit repetitive as the enemy uniqueness is small, but boss encounters are great.

There isn't that much deep story, but the combat feels good (also janky sometimes), but where it shines for the little hours I've put on so far is the encounters at night or the ones you stumble upon totally unintentionally.

If it wasn't for the technical issues it could be even better experience, but buy at discount. Not worth the full price.

Just buy it. The price is just too great not to buy it. You will get tens if not hundreds of hours out of it.

Sony reverted PSN changes as of today, so change your negative reviews folks. However I will leave the old part in case Sony triea to do old switcherooo.

Great if not one of the greatest live-service experiences.... until today

You already heard it, but...

PSN account will be Mandatory for new players beggining May 6th 2024 and existing players will need to link between May 30th and June 4th. Some major problems with this.

1. While the requirement was always on the steam page, due to server issues it was turned off for now 3 months (basically on day 2). In that time the player base grew large, so it begs the question if this was motivational from Sony to attach more players. Honestly if this was here from day 1 it wasn't going to be as big of a deal

2. Despite that, true or not, PSN is not available in some countries, while Sony didn't region lock the game on Steam, which means if you are in such a country and brought a copy of HD2, you won't be able to link an account, so you won't have access. You might go to the length and use either VPN or give false information, but both of those fall under Sony Terms of Service, which could lead to your account going banned, which will lead to you loosing success altogether.

3. The language used in the notice is troublesome. Sony is talking banning players and according to community manager on Discord, that is the main reason. Right now Sony need to give Valve a name and Valve do the work. Linking to PSN gives Sony the ability to terminate you right away. Community manager also spoke and I interpret here that "if you don't like the changes you are free to ask for refund and leave"

4. According to devs from Arrowhead this comes directly from Sony (which also owns the Helldivers IP), so their hands are tied.

5. According to Sony owns PSN guide, PSN is not mandatory for any of the Sony games, yet here it will be mandatory.

To be honest, it's sad to see a gem like HD2, a thriving live-service game with great community, being done dirty. Existing players will try to push back on this (alas we would see if it's possible), but to those wondering if they want to buy the game - it's up to you honestly. It's a great game, but honestly from morale point, I wish new potential players won't support Sony (yet this will hurt Arrowhead too, but your money goes to Sony as a publisher).

Go to Helldivers subreddit, lot of info and insight on what is and might be going on.

It's so relaxing. Maybe its the medieval setting, unlike other sim builders where it feels heavy (least to me). I haven't progress much, but so far the natural feel of the game is superb. The base pillars for this game are great and let's hope Gregg (the dev) could build upon it masterfully. I suggest to buy the game on the sole premise that what is present so far (albeit not so much of it) is greatly crafted and will be expanded. However if you don't feel like it, you can buy it months later when there could/would be improvements.

I suggest go to Manor Lords reddit community. Lot of guides and help and the dev is active.

Don't mind server issue comments, most (if not all) of them have been resolved.

With that in mind, Last Epoch trully is a midway between the casual dead D4 and the goat PoE. There is enough content in this $35 bundle to keep you engaged for weeks and probably more if you went hardcore on the endgame. My concern is that when PoE2 drops the playerbase will plumet, so I hope devs come soon (in 2-3 months) with more content. There are far more-indepth reviews than this, but if you want to play some ARPG and you have some burnt from PoE or you are disappointed in D4, try Last Epoch

Best thing? Crafting resources depositing. With one click you can just store your resources away and free inventory without the hussle to manage it.
