A really fun way to find out you're the Jesse Pinkman of the relationship

I do think the criticisms of the direction that Citizen Sleeper 2 went are valid, but lets not discredit what also went extremely well with this game.

The party system paired with the mission contracts are incredibly satisfying. The added difficulty was a welcome challenge and really lends to the tension and impact of your choices. While the glitched dice seem to be the most contentious choice among the player base, I think aside from the confusion arising around the tutorial it is a fair mechanic. I will concede that this does need to be explained a bit clearer towards the start of the game, though. I did however enjoy it exponentially more than the hacking segments in CS1.

While I would have killed for more character development among the new roster, the joy of seeing the older faces from the past game matched that twofold. I would have loved to see more cameo appearances, but every character in CS2 has an unbelievable amount of charm- no matter how big or little of an appearance they made. Guillaume Singelin really outdid himself with the character design and fluidity of his art this time around. You definitely feel present and float-y in the zero-g atmosphere, a huge credit to his work.

And of course, the writing has remained phenomenal. Those familiar with the genre know how extensive the reading can be in these games, but it never ceased in holding my attention in CS2. In fact, I think I would have liked more of it this time around, feeling as if maybe the game cut a little too short. But I am wishfully holding out for some future DLC. Either way, both games consistently left me a crying, blubbering mess by the end of the journey.

Which is where I give final praise to Amos Roddy, because the soundtrack captures and ties all of those feelings together.

All in all I think this game was stronger than CS1 in some aspects, and weaker in others. How you rate that depends on what is more important to your overall experience. I found the heightened game play elements more exciting, while also missing the familiarity and world-building we got back on Erlin's Eye. I enjoyed both games for what they were, and I think you will too given the chance.

Absolutely a top pick for me starting 2025, with both CS1 and CS2 being a forever all time favorite.

A narrative masterpiece.
This experience does not have a traditional game play loop, but frankly it doesn't suffer from choosing not to. Enjoy the story for what it is and you will not be disappointed.

The fact that this game is proudly boasted by the developers as "the successor of Ravenous Devils" is a hilarious, yet insulting kick in the teeth.

Go play that game instead.

Omori is a game that personifies and manifests all your worst fears and trauma, while simultaneously comforting you through its sinister undertones.

10/10 would emotionally ruin myself for this game again.

You'll hate the decisions you'll have to make.
But that's what makes the experience so worthwhile.

Don't expect your Undertale happy ending or lighthearted journey.
This game is dark, cruel, but most importantly it's an experience. (Be sure to play Lisa: The Joyful as well)

Upon purchasing this game it was riddled with crashes, bugs, and server wide issues. No game for a price of $30 should I be having to spend an hour debugging and reinstalling drivers. What a joke.
