TLDR: I seriously loved this game. For a 2-D horror game that looks like it could have been release 20 years before, it is horrifying, atypical, and brilliant.

The Count Lucanor is one of those games that you don't expect to be good. It's a 2D RPG that starts with a poor boy who sets out on an adventure. Abandoning his mother's wishes, a little boy, full of hubris, sets out on an adventure. Unsurprisingly, his decision leads to some very strange occurrences with nightmarish imagery.

Choices matter in most modern games, but in this one, the game misleads you, tricks you, and astounds you with a complete mastery of your expectations and even rewards you for being able to figure out how the game is tricking you. It's difficult to explain just how masterful this game is without spoiling any of it, but if you have the opportunity, and have not played it yet, I greatly suggest you pick it up, spend the four hours it takes for a playthrough, and take a glance at the achievements after you finish it up. There may be some things you missed.
