Don't know what these other reviews are complaining about.
I queued with 2 randoms, we all died multiple times on the first fort we went to. One random proceeded to immediately rage quit.
Me and the remaining random locked in and beat the entire run as a duo and killed the Nightlord faster than I've killed it in any 3 stack.
Great game.

Also, I genuinely think the ping system is more than enough for communication if you know how to use it well, and I never have to deal with toxic randoms screaming in my ear if I get an unlucky queue because there is no voice communication.

...I suppose it could use more content tho, hope they deliver on the DLC.

You will enjoy it if you already love Elden Ring combat, don't expect to see much new content though, just the 8 Nightlords. Definitely a buy if it goes on sale, and it is great as a more casual experience with friends than a full Elden Ring playthrough with seamless co-op.

Quick Review
10/10 Would takeover a ship with 8 wrenches again

Less Quick Review
The gameplay and mechanics are absolutely amazing. When you first start, you are completely unfamiliar and have no gear unlocked, even the "hard" difficulty missions seem completely insane. As you unlock more gear, become more skilled, and inevitably die when you pause the game with a shotgun blast 2 inches from blasting you away, you start learning how to overcome even the "mistake" difficulty missions.

The new gadgets and harder missions are always adding new problems and ways to solve them. The pause mechanic allows you to analyze the ship and take out entire squads of guards at your own pace.

The game does have permadeath and you don't keep your stash between characters, so don't be afraid to use all your valuable items on a really tough mission if you need them.

The game is overall amazing. Don't expect a huge story though. 99% of the game is just built around you as the player, challenging yourself to take on tougher missions and ships.
