A slower rts with a particularly inventive faction, Grey Goo is, in my opinion, worth the money.

A fun game that solves most of my problems with EW/EU. Only downside? Performance isn't as good as it could be, but that's okay for me because I enjoy the game regardless.

This installation in the Civ series is rather different from it's predecessors. Civ Beyond Earth is focused on the future, while most other games are focused on the past. I find the tech web a very interesting part of the game, as it allows a player to min-max, as opposed to the tech tree, which results into a race toward the end of the tree. The orbital layer is another welcome addition to the game, as it adds another interesting layer to military and industrial strategy. While some have complained of crashes, I have experienced no such problems, and my recomendation is a reflection of my own experiences. Alien units may initially be dismissed as mere reskinned barbarians, though they in fact behave differently. Alien units don't constantly attack your units unless provoked, but some are very much stronger than barbarian units, with an example being the siege worm, capable of easily devastating any early game unit, and with only moderate difficulty any early to mid city. In addition to all that, there is additional customization of the early game, allowing for differences in civilization beyond mere civilization bonuses, a much needed feature due to the comparitivly low amount of different civilizations in the game. To conclude, I believe that Civilization Beyond Earth diffentiates itself from Civilization V enough to justify buying it, particularly if there is a sale currently ongoing.

I just had a cybernetically enhanced supersoldier leap up the side of a building, then punch an alien through an air conditioning unit.
