Obligatory "I played for an ungodly amount of hours pre-Steam". I have every class at 75 (max level) with a second 75 of the opposite alignment in the works (i.e - 75 LS Sentinal, 60 DS Guardian). Game has excellent story, and even though KotXX can drag a little, still enjoyable. F2P and Preferred DO have limitations, but nothing so horrible that the game is unplayable (except credit cap, but escrow unlocks aren't THAT expensive). Worth the sub price imho.

Awesome game, even with the occasional bugs this game is fun to play and I know I've spent way too many hours trying to get a base"just right".....

Final Fantasy fans will love it, people not familiar with the FF series will also enjoy it. With the addition of the NOVICE NETWORK and MENTORS, learning the game is easier than ever, and very helpful for returning players who may have taken an extended break.

Yes, it's a sub based game, but there is a free trial to level 30 with several subscription options to choose from afterwards.

I've seen people say this game is "PAY TO WIN" but until recently the only buyable items were either Collectors Edition upgrades or cosmetic items. Yes, they recently introduced a "Start at level 60" option for some classes, but as of this review, you can only buy 1 (ONE) per account, and the gear they give you isnt exactly "uber" or "overpowered" compared to someone just doing the Main Story Quests.

My experience with the BOOSTED Char item: I leveled my Gladiator until I unlocked Paladin (both Tanks) and leveld it through Heavensward all the way to lvl 60. Just running MSQ and a few side missions to unlock Aether currents (required to fly in different zones). I bought a Black mage boost shortly after starting Stormblood just so I'd be able to have the DPS option available, and my Paladin was only 2 ilevels below what they gave my Black mage.

The original ARR story was really good, though at times I will admit it felt "grind-y", but it's a MMO so thats kind of a staple of the genre. Heavensward story was pretty great too, and so far I'm enjoying Stormblood's story as well.

TLDR Version: Good game, easy to get into, multiple sub pricing options once you complete your free trial.Good story, buyable char boosts but nothing I'd consider "OP" compared to leveling yourself. Definately recommend.

Incredible story, definatly worth the multiple play throughs youll need to unlock all the endings (6 total).
This "game" is a must have if you're a lover of fantasy.
