I bought the $65 Annoversary Edition.
I launched the game,
It asked me for an activation code I don't have.
I used the internet to find a solution (run Steam, Ubisoft Connect, and Anno1800 as Administrator)
I launched the game.
I started the campaign.
The game crashed.
I launched the game.
Error Message: "Starting Game: There was a problem authenticating the ownership of this product. Please contact customer support if you need help in solving this problem."
I used the internet to find a solution (try to un-link the Ubisoft account linked to your Steam and link the Ubisoft account you used for Anno1800)
I go to my old Ubisoft Account to unlink.
I click the un-link button, it doesn't work even after multiple attempts.
I restart Ubisoft Connect.
It logged me out of my account.
I enter my login information.
It asks for a 2-Factor Authentication.
I never set-up 2-Factor Auth on my Ubisoft Connect because I never use the cursed app.
I am locked out of my old Ubisoft account.
I try to launch the game again.
I attempt to click the Ubisoft Support link on the error message.
The link to Ubisoft Support doesn't work.
I am soft-locked from a game I just spent $65 on and got to play for 30 minutes which was mostly spent on menus.
> I refund the game.

I am not spending more of my time and life googling Ubisoft support and opening a ticket to access a game I just bought just for an attempt to be able to play it. I say "attempt" because we all know Ubisoft Support sucks and it's unlikely this major issue could be resolved.
It was more worth my time to write this review then it was and is to attempt to access this game.

What the f--k is this sh-t show. It's 2024, this game came out in 2019.
Game platforms and software in 2008 had better quality, user friendliness, and ease-of-access than the garbage that is Ubisoft Connect or any other past or future versions of Ubishít software/apps; made by absolute monkeys.

Ubisoft can rot in hell.
