Play Lingo 1. If you like that this is only okay.

Is this actually fun? I was solving a puzzle where the clue was simply "5 letter vehicle". "Truck" I think instantly. That's wrong. Plane maybe? No. A few minutes later I search it on the internet, because is this really such an interesting question anyways? It really isn't. I was in a pure green pyramid with a bunch of other easy similar puzzles. This puzzle had no interesting relation to the world around it. It was not exploring some new mechanic. It was just another boring puzzle. Most of the game is actually like this.

The letter search mechanic doesn't do anything to make the game better imo. Panels are red if you can't solve them. You can lose letters in certain places, so it introduces this tedious method of reducing any puzzle into an anagram if you want.

This is not really a review. It is just to support the game.

Hard and interesting puzzles right from the start. Highly recommended for hardcore puzzle fans.

Katana Zero has highly varied fun action-platforming gameplay, a vibrant flashy aesthetic , and a stylish text box story system. If you are looking for challenging content it has that to in the form of a secret ending, hard mode, and speedrun mode. Overall, I really like Katana Zero. I have no major complaints about it.

Top notch concept. The simple elements are extremely versatile, so they create interesting levels just by existing. In addition the level design is also top notch. The levels are usually nearly unsolvable by just guessing different options, but when you stop to really think about it, you realise there really arent that many options, and you get that feeling that you actually figured it out. Best of all a good amount of hard puzzles, which is something even the best puzzle games dont always have. Also there are 2 free dlcs that each add a new element.

Its hard to talk about this game for a long time, because there are no flaws to talk about. This is easily one of the best games I have ever played. Highly reccomended especially for puzzle fans.

Poor quality platformer. Very short, if your good you could finish it fast enough to get a refund. You could feel the level design getting better as the game went on as if the author made all the levels in a row and then never went back. Most of the levels feel like they werent designed for running either, because if you were running you could jump over a lot of pointless obstacles. Theres this annoying robot guy that appears in a dialog box to say the same 5-10 stupid catch phrases on every level. Wall jumping sometimes feels bad because you have to jump before pressing away,. This feels weird because a lot of games actually allow you to stick to the wall more so your jump doesnt get messed up in this way. The final boss is really annoying because you have like a 90% chance for him to charge in to you and kill you the second you reach him at the end of the 15 second hallway before him. I dont know why I bought it

NOTE: Received from Humble Bundle purchased for the other games.

The main mechanic of this game involves thowing jelly beans to activate a "blobs" special powers. You can only throw one jellybean at a time so these powers never have any interaction. Some levels seem like they're designed to make the challenge getting the blob through not just yourself, but the blob can clip through walls. Basicly this leads to a lot of waiting for the blob to poorly pathfind to the jellybean and then do an annoying animation. There is no reason the special powers shouldnt activate instantly.

This game also has a lot of handholding. If somehow you are having trouble with one of these simplistic, repetitive "puzzles" very often there is a billboard with the answer on it there to help you. This completely devoids the game of any challenge, and is actually insulting to the player. Another thing that has no place in a puzzle game is that in a few instances levels take advantage of hardcoded interactions in specific spots that cause things to happen that usually wouldnt. Additionally, the 3 collectable treasure chests in each level aren't always in order and if you miss one it was usually the other way at an intersection that you had no real way to tell which way it was til it was too late.

Ultimately this is a bland puzzle game with a lot of waiting annoying mechanics, and also bugs. There are a lot of small details i could complain about that are mostly bugs, but they wouldn't make sense to someone who hasn't played it and is reading a review. I was going to quit this game after world 2, but I beat it 100% out of boredom.

NOTE: Looks like the play timer is bugged Im sure i didnt play that long my ingame timer is much lower.

Apotheon is an ancient greek action platformer. I dont like the art style, but i guess it fits the ancient greek theme. You can see it yourself in the trailer, if its a plus to you thats fine.

Gameplay consists of going on various quests involving following arrows through the overworld to find mini dungeons scattered about that often have a boss in them and lots of purposeless corridors. Most of these quests never really had any explanation as to why I needed to do them, for example in the "Hades" area players must cross 4 rivers before fighting the areas boss. When you cross these rivers you come out back exactly where you started. It seem the only reason I had to do it was to add to the gameplay, not the story. However, many of these quests were very interesting and fun. This isn't nessicarily a fault. The problems come in with the platforming and combat.

Platforming is quite obnoxious, it almost feels like im lagging but I dont think i am. Its very hard to move just a small amount or land on a small platform. Most areas are designed with "Z" shaped platforms, so youll often try to jump up onto one and lagging into the crook, because the jump didnt respond well. Also unresponsive is trying to down jump through a platform. This is very annoying when trying to run away. When you receive a big hit sometimes you go flying unpredictably. Also if your like me your used to roll jumping everywhere. Nope in this game you get to jump roll instead, thats a bit strange. There arent really that many parts in this game that require precise platforming anyways but its still annoying, especially on the final boss.

Combat system is very simple but there are a ton of guards its much better to just run past most of them. When you do have to fight, despite the game insisting otherwise, you can just button mash with most weapons. Range weapons even have automatic aiming which is pretty OP. You can also make a ton of healing items using the crafting system. Even when you do die you aren't set back much by it.

Theres this weird issue while trying to switch weapons while in combat where you cant do it while attacking. I would expect the game to finish the attack and then switch. When your weapon breaks this gets really annoying and makes it hard to use the more advanced potions at all.The UI also has weird overlapping issues very often.

If your going to play it play it for an ancient greek story the gameplay is subpar.

P.S. If your going to play it anyways you should note that the last difficulty is locked until you beat the game once but theres a bug you can do to skip to the final boss and get the acheivement for beating that difficulty without beating the whole game again.

Outland is the action platformer with the switching colors.

Boring Level design. This game is very unrewarding all the extra little secret areas give only a few gold pieces which can be used to buy health and stamina. Guacamelee gives a nice progress system towards higher health and stamina. No need to fight the simple enemys running past them is much more effective. Just tank the bullets try to touhou switch but if you miss its probly no big deal. Lots of waiting for moving platforms.

Combat system is much worse than Guacamelees great combat system. This one is basicly just spam attacks sometimes move away. Stamina doesnt auto recharge but the abilitys it allows arent very useful anyways. Monsters cant even find you if you walk off a ledge nearby. Again why even bother to fight them just jump over them and keep running. Most monsters are annoying and uninteresting. Theres this big guy thats like a miniboss that appears 3 times you have to fight. The first time i just held down right and slide attack. The other 2 times he has a really small hit window and it seems random if he hits you back when you attack him. The actual boss fights just seem pretty boring and weird.

Most of the achievments are perfectly managable. One is for doing a coop level and theres no local coop good luck finding a partner online. Last acheivement sucks. Have to spend a few hours grinding gold. I only got like 200k during the game the achievement is for 1m. Dont get the health upgrades it makes it slower and the bosses drop extra hp when your about to die anyways so you dont need it. Better yet just dont get this game.
