After dedicated a long amount of time to mainly playing this game with a full roster of characters keeping up with weeklies I would like to recommend new players against picking up the game unless you've got a group of friends to play with, want to play a support class, or are comfortable stepping into the role as the party leader. No matter what you will need a lot of time on your hands.

The core game play and mechanics are fun and satisfying to pull off, but the design of the fights make deaths very punishable. This is lovely on paper, but leads to a community with low room for failure.

Gearing your character with a good build requires either a good amount of luck, time, or money which will bottleneck a lot of people from getting invited into content.

To get gold you will need to complete raids, and if you get passionate enough about this game it will eventually lead to you doing the maximum of 6x3 raids for gold, which ends up taking a lot of time to complete even if every run goes smoothly.

While not mandatory, grinding for collectibles such as cards, giants hearts, ignia tokens etc. provide fairly significant bonuses that make a noteworthy difference. Everything tied to collectibles take a significant amount of time both in game and IRL to complete.

All of this results in a game that at its core is very fun to play, but sadly falls off due to how the amount of time needed to dedicate to the game seems to almost increase exponentially as you become more invested, and sadly the amount of time needed is way too much for most people to want to dedicate to a singular video game on a weekly basis.
