I don’t hate The Triggering because it’s offensive. I hate that it does nothing special with that offense. If you took away the satire, you’re left with a boring collection of minigames. If you took away the minigames, you just have stereotypes you’ve seen from every antifeminist that can’t be bothered to make an substantive argument. It’s lazy, flashing offensive content just to get a rise out of the people who the developers disagree with. Even if that was the point, a purposefully lazy game is still lazy and unengaging.
