Objectively the best shooter on the market. There's no other game like it, and there really aren't many cheaters. SUB TO SNAKE_NADE

Devs don't know how to balance a pve game, they nerf everything fun and don't buff the stuff people don't use, they lock you out of progression if you don't grind the game 24/7, and now they're forcing sony accounts on steam users. Nobody wants to make a playstation account to play a PC game. There are still bugs in the game months after launch that existed at launch. It really does feel like the devs actively try to make the game as unenjoyable as possible. I took a month break from the game and it's actually unplayable now because they nerfed everything I have access to and I can't afford the new battlepasses. It's like I'm level 10 all over again. The game was fun at launch and has gotten progressively worse with time.

MegaRats. Let me tell you about MegaRats. I was given this masterwork as a gift for christmas (It was only 50 cents, an absolute steal of a price btw). It promised me rats, and boy were they mega! If you don't want spoilers, turn away now. This is where I start talking about the real meat of the game. I launched the game, and was greeted by a classic settings menu before the game launches, much like the greats that you would have seen in the early 2000's, really set a good tone for the greatness i was about to bear witness to. In this menu, I looked at the graphics options and had all the classics such as "Fastest, Fast, Beautiful, Fantastic, and Level 8" and so at Level 8 graphics (8 is a really high number) I launched the game and was greeted by voice acting worthy of all of the voice acting awards known to man. I then played for 20 minutes, getting really personal with the pavement every 5 steps and making sure it stayed afraid of me, and blasting rats with my AK-47. About 20 minutes in, I launched into the air, to my surprise I had a jetpack! After soaring through the air, 200 meters above the ground, the wind in my hair, I plummeted to the ground at terminal velocity and bounced off, soon brushing the dust off my shoulders and getting back up to resume blasting rats. Later, I found out that if I just double tap space again (after the fuel runs out) I can burst another load of fuel, and watching the world disappear beneath me, I knew I had found the game of the year. (I then once again hit the ground and got up like nothing happened) Not to mention the great fun that was collecting coins, so many coins to collect.

This game is great, the devs and modding community are both very active and working hard to keep new content coming to the game. The game has it's minute issues, but it's a good time waster and the re-playability is shockingly good, coming from someone who hates repetitive gameplay with a passion. The game's especially fun once you have the "TooManyFriends" mod and get 6+ people in the game. Good times.

This game was well written, always letting you piece things together, but also giving you just enough to do so with.

Kinda buggy, but definitely holds up to this day. Better than most 80 dollar games that we're force fed nowadays.

Got the game for free in a giveaway. Elex has a pretty good story, and it's a shame that it's mechanically so bad. The game expects you to fight ♥♥♥♥ that one shots you, and you do a miserable amount of damage unless you manage to knock whatever it is you're fighting onto it's ass. The dodging is jank, the movement is jank, and the graphics are jank. Within a couple hours of playing, I had already come to the conclusion the game was 10 years old, but it isn't. If you enjoy an RPG where you don't kill anything and run past all the enemies because they're not worth killing, and they will likely one shot you, this is the game for you. Killing stuff gives you 10-35 XP, and for context, side quests are 100-500 xp, yet every scrap with a small forest creature feels like the next miniboss. I spent most of my time running errands for the berserkers (one of the factions), and 10 hours later I have nothing to show for it aside from a few levels that don't mean anything because you still get one shot by everything despite finally getting armour. And, after you level enough to get yourself a weapon, you still do pixels of damage despite finally having more than a rusty axe.

This game truly feels like an underbudgetted game from ~2010, and I'm surprised the reviews aren't more mixed. I guess our standards have really been dropped this much over the years. 55 CAD, and I've gotten more polished games for half as much, I definitely wouldn't buy the game full price if you can avoid it.

And yet I want to go back, because the story is so intriguing.

Oh, and I forgot to mention the fact the game has a bug where you'll crash to desktop trying to load your save if you have Geforce Experience. To remedy this, you have to close anything to do with Nvidia before launching the game, ending the tasks in task manager and everything. This was strange, considering I started playing the game without any knowledge of this until I came back for session 2, to load my save and play again.

I found it was kind of like a joke without a punchline. Never really drew me in and at least the one ending i got was pretty ♥♥♥♥. But i can't be bothered to even skip through it again to see the other endings. This is maybe my 4th graphic novel, and it was the worst so far.
