Game is so incredibly fun thus far. Gun play feels amazing and I expect to play loads of Infinite ranked.

That being said.

The progression system is completely ridiculous. I knew there was going to be a battle pass system in the game (which is fine) but what I didn't expect was that to be the only form of progression. There isnt even standard levels that you can climb. To make matters worse, the only way you can "level up" your battle pass in exclusively through the limited amount of supplied weekly & daily challenges. So it could easily take you 10+ games to level up just a single battle pass tier. That is ridiculous. I was expecting it to either be game time based or XP based that would level it up. But it's neither. Feels like there's nothing to really grind & be rewarded for when the only form of progression is so tedious to level up.

The optimization also seems a little ♥♥♥♥♥♥. I have a 2070 Super, Intel i9 9900k, 32gb DDR4 ram and I am barley able to reach above 80-90fps on medium settings at 1440p. Additionally, DLSS is nowhere to be seen... Hopefully that gets added among the full launch of Halo Infinite in December, because if this is it for optimization, DLSS might be the saving grace.

Also where is SWAT? Probably my favourite casual gamemode in Halo is just absent, pretty unfortunate I can not lie.

Within the actual structure of the gameplay, I have no massive issues except for the time to kill. The TTK might need a little bit of work. It is way too long, even for Halo, IMO.

See I would totally make the joke that "although this game is free, I still want my money back", but knowing I did actually buy all the DLC including Beyond Light, I actually do want my money back. I would have gotten more out of my hard earned money if I just put $80 into a dumpster than lit the dumpster on fire. Probably more of a story too.

Imagine taking content out of your game that's been in it for years and promising to re release it as new content. And this games player base will still completely eat it up praising Bungie for being innovative and great. C'MON NOW. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE BUNGIE THAT'D SPEND YEARS CRAFTING AMAZING STORIES THAT WE'D CARE ABOUT. The Bungie Halo games still hold up to this day to compete with 2020/21 releases, they're that good. Idk what happened here but its a sad grindfest.

Like sure the gameplay is fun but I seriously doubt that repeating the same god forsaken strike for the 30th time to get that new spicy exotic to replace the one you just spent 40 hours trying to get is seriously complimenting this fun gameplay. Gamers are so gullible

I deleted this game off origin just to immediately reinstall it on steam.

That says something.

I've barley scratched the surface of this game and i'm 20 hours in. I'm having an amazing time with Cyberpunk 2077. CDPR has really crafted a beautiful world and i'm loving every second of my stay in Night City.
Game's still got a few bugs here and there, nothing game breaking. There's already been two patches out, the massive Day 1 patch and a new one this morning.
You do need a pretty beefy PC to run this game well, which is unfortunate. But if you're fortunate like myself. Go have a blast.

Edit [two years layer]

This game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tight now. It was tight before but now... well now it's truly... BREATHTAKING. >_>

The rate you earn gold and even standard cash is absolutely broken but since I got the game for five dollars I cant complain. I'm having a pretty good time grinding to become a bounty hunter.
The PVP gamemodes are awful tho.

I feel like this game gets too much unneeded hate. Its a good game, I have lots of fun with it. It just wasnt exactly treated well by the devs. Its also unfortunate that its very unpopulated
