Skyrim is one of those games that you hear and instantly recognise, and there is good reason for it. The game literally revolutionised roleplaying games and still influences how we see them today, it has received hundreds of awards and 10/10 ratings from gaming magazines, websites and youtube channels. With hundreds of quests and a dynamic large open world to mess around in the game has infinite replayability even as just the vanilla game due to different choices you make in the story and how you like to build your character for combat and this is just the base game! With the most dedicated modding community I have ever come across, the game can be changed entirely due to the large abundance of mods. The story is enthralling, the world is infinitely immersive and will draw you in immediately. These days the graphics are a bit lack lustre however better in Special Edition than in the Legendary Edition but that can be fixed with mods for next gen super computer graphics if you so please.

The only have a few complaints about the game and these include:
Achievements - They are disabled when you use mods, so if you like to showcase your achievements proudly on steam, say goodbye to your sex slave you got from that one mod

The 60 FPS Cap - It's 2020, this should be unlocked with the base game, we shouldn't have to manually change stuff in Skyrim.ini etc for smoother graphics, which isn't hard but really, pick up your game Bethesda

The game should auto save more often, I hate dying and losing like 20 minutes of progress, it is the biggest pain in the world.

Fast travel - This is controversial but I think the game would be better without it, the best experience of this game is exploring the Skyrim, not teleporting to all your quest locations

I would 100% recommend Skyrim to everyone, just pick whether you want to play Special Edition or Legendary Edition, the differences are:

Special Edition - $60 (AUD) 64bit, uses more ram, has better and remastered graphics and textures, and utilises most of your PC's power, far less mods available than Legendary Edition (but most the good ones have ported over)

Legendary Edition - $25 (AUD) 32bit, less ram usage, doesn't utilise a lot of your PC's power and has a far smaller game size, however has like 3x-4x more mods than Special Edition

Final Words of Advice:
Fast Travel does not exist, don't use it for MAX IMMERSION

If you are doing a completionist playthrough, download the mod: 'Legacy of the Dragonborn' before starting, if you download it mid playthrough you will miss items and feel depressed. The mod adds a museum in the city of Solitude which allows you to display and track every item in the game that you have collected and brought there, also adds a whole new quest line which is pretty awesome.

Take your time, read the quest text, do the side quests, read the books, you want to experience the game in an organic way and you will enjoy and experience more of what the game has to offer.

A must play game, only about an hour of playtime though so I'd recommend buying this during a sale.
Also stop reading the reviews, you need to experience this without any knowledge prior to playing.
