I picked this game up on discount which was about 1/3 of the normal price. For that, I definitely feel like I achieved my money and then some. At full price, I think the game does offer value, but I would not have picked it up at full price with what I have experienced. Yet, that should not be a dismissal of this game's experience in any way. Rather, it is an admittance of what you are getting as a product for the price you are paying. The story, animations and general presentation are indicative of a small studio, working on perfecting their craft. Equally, it is also evidence of a team doing their best with what they can muster. To that extent, their effort should not be dismissed, rather praised.

Regardless of the value proposition though, the experience is what most want to hear about. I am very happy to say that this game does indeed bring about strong emotions within the player and give you a reason to be invested in the story and characters within. The context behind the creation of this game does mean that you will likely be confused as to why the setting and world background is what it is, and I would advise to avoid digging too deep, lest you want to fall into the pits of online rabbit holes. Even so, if you do not know why this exact product exists, you will not be too disadvantaged in enjoying it, as was the case with me.

The story is coherent if a little standard in places. Boy meets girl and has a strong impact on said girl's life, for good or bad. However, the key messages and themes are engaging, even if they sometimes come across as too direct during dialogue. This is not to say the writing is "simple" or "basic" rather, you will find depth, but not at an unachievable level that requires extensive study. For a team that is beginning to form its identity, this is a valiant effort and lays the foundations for further growth and development. I would very much look forward to future products, if they are equal to, if not better than this.

As for original assets, the style is enjoyable, if a little rough in certain segments. The "art" within the game is unique from this though. For a game about an artist (spoiler!) there is no suspending disbelief at the quality of said character's art. Many of the pieces made were incredibly striking and worthy of the in-game praise. Likewise, the music fits in many sections, even though some tracks sounded a bit scuffed, likely during the mastering process. Some of the OSTs I will seek out, especially the main theme from the trailer. Finally, the inclusion of debug tools to help make the game more accessible encouraged me to replay from start to finish for my final run, even though I had done so already and knew the main story beats. This is not something I tend to enjoy doing, which speaks to the consideration towards player's like myself and enabling us to experience this game in its entirety, without committing too much towards playing.

---

In summary: A lovely experience for what I paid for and while showing certain signs of what it means to be an indie developer, I would not consider this a large enough detraction from what is presented. This is an experience that you will enjoy, especially if you are one for romance as a genre.
