Hello, fellow survival enthusiasts.

If you like the game Green Hell, or have good memories with it, then this review is not for you. I tell you this now, to save you from having to read my words and argue with me in your head, we who shall never meet. I say this to free you from the obligation of sparring with me, because clearly you had a good time, and myself and my fellow adventurer, did not. To you, I wish you well. Good luck in your future endeavors. May we never meet.

To the rest of you, without brain damage or childhood trauma, I speak the truth. Green Hell is exactly as advertised. The main light colors, or color wheels in general available to you within this setting is indeed green. It is all you will ever see. Which is expected, it is a jungle. But its the Hell part I refer. This was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ballsack torture to the fullest extent of the law, and likely outside of it, depending on what country you reside.

I have many survival crafters in my inventory. It is a genre I love and enjoy. So when my girlfriend (she recommended this game and our relationship has never truly recovered) recommended this game, I was very excited. Im a try hard, sweaty gamer, you see - so Ill play just about anything regardless of difficulty. Sometimes Ill even do my best to make it harder on myself, just to say, yeah, I did that.

I quit Green Hell after 42 minute with my life partner.

I never touched again, for over 2.5 year. I cusred it for what it was, hated it for what it had done to me, done to us. But the day came when a friend of mine who has the same amount of idiocy as I came along and said "BrUnSwiCk We ShOulD pLaY GrEEn HeLL." I warned him. I warned him through and through, and then he asked me, "What, are you a ♥♥♥♥♥?" So of course, I couldnt let that stand. So my fellow Roman and I, set out to civilize the Yabba-WHUACA.

At this point in time, the campaign into the cursed Jungle is still ongoing. We took a break over the holidays, as he tended to his family, and I pretended I had one. Now that we are back, niether he nor I speak of the battle on the horizon. We never leave a game unfinished. But by Neptune, neither of us dare speak its name. We know its there. We feel it. Like one of the millions of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ infected wounds with maggots the game gave us. Like one of the many neurotoxins that made of ♥♥♥♥ out pants and vomit up the last of our coconut water. This travesty lurks over my shoulder, and it never, ever, leaves. Soon we will return to that green hell. I feel it my bones.

I am not afraid of death. But I do fear the pain of death. And Green Hell, is a slow, painful, boring, horribly thought out, insidious, fake wife on the walkie talkie whos likely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the cartel cuck simulator. And It made me wish to die, and skip the pain of it all.

Between my friend going mad and shadow boxing natives werent there, and the screams of tortoise heads mounted on trees, the poison dart frogs overlapping my spamming of the pick up button when collect supplies and subsequently killing me, or the tiger ambushes that left me maimed and my fellow legate crippled for life, I have reached my threshold.

I have reached a point where I am lost. I want to finish Green Hell. I want my friend and I to be able to say, "Yes, we conquered the Jungle." But by Mars, the idea of returning sets my hair on end, and makes me want to backflip into a tiger pit.

My humble, unasked for, biased opinion, is Green Hell should be put in a time capsule, so the children of the eskimos inn 2525 can know just how bad late stage depression was in the Western Nations. Hopefully, they will avoid the fate of Gaulic Rome.

Do not play this game unless you are completely detached from reality, and care not for the repetitive, minute tasks of collect snails to survive, and pissing on your friends to disinfect them. If you enjoy eating Brazilian spiders for dinner, and just crave anthills that will erupt and devour your will to live, then Green Hell is for you.

If you need further proof, please look at my friend @Drazker's review of Green Hell.

Im gonna go back to playing Vampyre now. Good luck, and farewell.

EDIT 5/21/2024 - We just, as of now, by Neptune's good graces, finished the game. I wanted you to know none of this, in the end, was worth it. My good friend was mauled by a panther, and I was chased by barbarians that werent even there. I want to congratulate the devs, as this TRULY was our personal Green Hell.

We return to Rome, to never speak of this campaign again.

This is an incredible card game - and I dont like card games. The mechanics, and art style are amazing - and I was completely enthralled and loved it. The gritty feeling of having to play a game with a threat across the table - a dark card game mixed with escape room and good storytelling carried so hard in the BEST way. I fell in love with the game and was invested in it from start to about 5 hours in - until Act 2.

I dont know who thought it was a good idea - or who thought it was quirky, or... I dunno? Interesting? The art style goes from a grungy, horror, tense situation... to some sort of undertale looking knockoff with pokemon mechanics, having to fight several area 'masters' in card games rather than continue the horror-esque story it was telling.

The artstyle and music (that cover the advertisement sections of your steampage, with no more than a 3 second reference to act 2) completely cease, and now some awful 16 bit dreamcast styled music and graphics are now applied. This change, this utter turnaround, was enough to make me stop playing.

I was so flabbergasted by how this game 180'd that I couldnt sit through it, I had to ♥♥♥♥ off and play something else.

Whoever came up with the first act... you are a genius. Art, ambiance, style...kept me engaged and wanting more. Whoever did act 2... I dont know what to say. Please dont. Dont ever again.

**I still recommend the game** - some people probably like that kind of thing, and the first act was totally worth my time and attention. The rest of it, however... personal option, ruined the experience.

((EDIT))

I decided to take the time to read the negative reviews to see if perhaps I was the only one - This game has some of the most well written and well spoken complaints about the very same thing. People who agree the game is great - but is nothing like it was advertised, and are disappointed that what they were shown was actually the smallest aspect of the game. And honestly? Its an utter shame. Because this game was truly amazing.

Monster Hunter.... holy hell.

So, this is my introduction into the series. Ive never played a single one before now, and I was unsure about it when I first got it. When I started playing, I was instantly struck by how GORGEOUS the game is. The looks and sounds are so on point, and certainly memorable. I enjoyed everything from the first cutscene, and on. The story is somewhat shallow, unless you have followed the series beforehand - but as someone who loves deep stories, this didnt bother me at all.

I know this is SO overused, but I have to say it - the combat in terms of limitations and movesets is very DarkSouls. You have to time your moves properly otherwise you can wind up leaving yourself wide open for attacks. Every encounter feels badass, and full of excitement. The mounting system is absolutely awesome, and the dynamics with crafting are pretty sweet.

My only real complaints with the game is more so [ I believe] to be on Steams behalf - disconnection. I disconnect so much from other players in multiplayer so often... I know it will be fixed, so I dont let it bother me, but it can get really overwhelming when you face a Monster buffed for CooP by yourself.

All in all, I seriously reccomend this game if you enjoy adventure, crafting, varied battles, replayability, and general mayhem. I am stoked about this title, and honestly can say I really hope for more.

Early Access Review
Abatron.

I have to say I am very pleased with what I have encountered with this title so far. I have always been a fan of RTS games, but this one takes the whole damn cake. With a mash up of units that feel like Starcraft meets Doom, the ability to control any unit whenever, a leveling system for player controlled units that can sway the battlefield, and awesome backdrops and possibilities, I can say I fell in love with this game.

Now I know this isnt a full review. The game is currently early access. But this is what I have come to believe after playing the game throught its PRE-release, up until this very moment. ABATRON is looking VERY promising, with many features already implemented, with a product that is backed by developers I have come to know over time. They have been hard at work shaping the game, and keeping the community informed, which was one of the biggest selling points for me. Developers that actually absorb feedback and conduct meets with their community.

ABATRON offers a mix of RTS and FPS action. While the building and management is there, it isnt everything. Knowing how to level your player abilities controlling units, and how to counter enemy types is paramount. Much of the skirmishing before a large clash between players armies is done by the players themselves. Being able to personally control units has given ABATRON flexibility, allowing for different approaches other than full frontal attacks.

The concept art and style is superb. Like I mentioned before, the game is very similiar to a Doom/Starcraft mashup. It is very stylish and different, and I personally am very excited to see what other factions arise and how they will compare to their counterparts. Between a human faction, to cyber-demon aliens, I can't wait. And its ease of transition from that of a commander to a warrior on the ground is seamless, and very enjoyable. Nothing beats watching a fight not go your way, and deciding you have to turn the tide yourself.

There are improvements to be made, as with any game that is early access. The UI can be somewhat clunky here and there, but really never impacted my gameplay. AI pathing can be somewhat difficult, and sometimes weird things occur. But these are natural to an early access game, and Im sure it will be dealt with in time.

As of right now, from what I have seen and experianced of ABATRON, I can in good heart and sound mind fully recommend getting this game if you love RTS games that push the limits of what we are used to. I give ABATRON a solid 9.0/10

Where...do I even begin?

Allow me to start off by saying this game is absolutely amazing. It is solely original, and captures so much heart and feeling it is unimaginable. The story is deep, mysterious, and compelling. The music - oh God, the music is so fitting, and such excellent quality. When playing and streaming this for my followers, we were all enraptured by this game's SOUL.

The characters you meet along the way become unforgettable, and part of you. The enemies, terrifying, and obscure. The idea of mercy, and not having to destroy everything in your path is also a very unique spin on a genre that usually encourages killing all enemies to rise in power and level. Every aspect of this game drove me on and on to see it to proper completion.

To anyone out there who is on the fence about it - go for it. If you like all the things I mentioned, I promise this masterpiece is for you! Fingers crossed Toby Fox and his talented team expand on the world of UNDERTALE one day! Don't give up, Toby! You have an unrelenting fanbase! Pursue even more than you had expected!

Seeing all this support... and love from your UNDERTALE followers... should fill you with DETERMINATION! It cannot end here!

Early Access Review
I have purchased both Starforge and RoK. I have seen them both in development since the beginning.

RoK is excellent (at early access) and immersive. I have a few hundred hours in it, and I do not regret a single one of them. I have had a great deal of fun, and it is all due to the game's ability to support both combat and a building system, both of which are very well done. Improvements could be made, certainly. HOWEVER - for a game that is early access like this, and still on the rise, this is more than what you paid for. If you are upset with it, I think it is time you go back and read the disclaimer for purchasing Early Access games. Let us move on, shall we?

PROs

- Large maps
- Balanced resources
- simple crafting system
- intuitive building system
- Perfect for those who RP
- multiple types and tiers of weapons and tools
- Optimized (If it doesnt work, face it - your rig sucks)
- Constant patches and hotfixes

CONs

- slow development
- by foot is your only way to travel
- slow gathering to building ratio (based on Nodes, not terrain)
- bugs here and there
- rare - but hackers are still an issue

This is worth it. Half of the cons, if not more, come with EVERY early access purchase ever. With much more on the way, I think this game can become something greater than it already is. To those of you who are coming here to ♥♥♥♥♥, moan, and gripe about Starforge - get lost. YOU are the reason that Indie developers get stonewalled. YOU are the reason that small teams cannot finish products as they want to, because they lose funding due to childish reviews and behavior. Not everything work out to plan. These guys have lives, jobs and schools to attend. A majority of them dont do this for a LIVING. They have to do this between work, family problems and whatever else just like you and I. So tighten your belt, change your tampon, and stick it out.

Or - do not buy Early Access games.

In short, if you like games that combine medieval combat with building interfaces, creating and conqueoring - this game is for you. 8/10

Ah, where to begin? Age of Empires was my childhood, and it still is a favorite. It is a simple layout, understandable controls, and those simple graphics that just DO IT for this old game. Hours and Hours of replayability, and never ending excitement. Age of Empires has never disappointed before, and Im sure this remake will only make its legacy greater.

For an Early Access game, its more than I ever expected. If you ever wanted a mix between Minecraft and DayZ playstyle, here you go. It is a fully buildable, destructable voxel world, and the graphics arent stunning or finished, but are decent. There is nothing like scavanging to survive, and then hightailing it back to a comandeered building to fortify for the night. Which, just so you know, is deadly. I think its a must have.
