It's alright i guess.
Although removing the ability to put any accessory in the vanity slot is a ♥♥♥♥ move.

Having owned this game for close to 5 years now i can safely say that it's hot garbage.
From close to zero performance increase over the games entire life span, to a company that seems more interested in creating expensive DLC rather than improving performance or introducing new or relevant mechanics (looking at you, contact), it seems that Bohemia Interactive really cares little about this game anymore, and would rather milk it for all it's worth instead.

Cons:
- The equivalent of 20 year old graphics.
- Terrible optimisation with no improvement over the entire games lifespan.
- Clunky Animations.
- Sub-par voice acting that just stitches together different words & audio files to form sentences.
- The game is built on an ungodly engine with atrocious physics simulations.
- Lacklustre ballistics & armour calculations for a milsim game.
- Dumb as bricks AI, whose threat is determined entirely by a slider to change their aimbot difficulty (no, really).
- Frequent crashes seemingly no matter what hardware you use, memory leaks are especially common.
- Sub-par sound design on most of the guns (vehicle sounds are alright though)

The Pros:
- The guns feel really nice, despite sounding generic, and there's a decent gun customisation system.

Unfortunately for you and me, that doesn't matter as Arma 3 is the only "realistic" sandbox milsim game that we as a community have avaliable to us. And this brings me to probably the biggest Pro & the only reason this godforsaken game is still even afloat, THE COMMUNITY.

It's pretty fantastic, the people are some of the friendliest and unique individuals you'll ever come across, and they're dedicated and passionate when it comes to keeping the game fun. The extensive community mods page has just about everything you can think of, from historical WW2 or Cold war era vehicles to Starcraft & Warhammer 40K overhauls, and the games fantastic success can be largely attributed to this community.

If Arma 3 as a base game was a barebones sandbox that ran well, the modding community would make this game an instant success and a definite recommend, however they haven't even gotten that right. When, not if, a direct competitor for Arma 3 comes out, as long as it can run well and offers extensive mod support, make no mistake that Arma 3 will be dead in the water within a year, it's base relegated to only the most diehard and toxic Bohemia Interactive fanboys.

P.S - I don't consider Squad a sandbox in the same realm as Arma 3, but it's a good alternative for any milsim fans who want a well built game.
