Okay, this game smacks my berries just right.

As always I need to update my review for the betterment of understanding the game. I preface this with one large thing. I am concentrating on SINGLE PLAYER ONLY for I am not a big survival multiplayer gamer. I have not touched the multiplayer at all.

Starting out. The game is a crawl at some points, and shows that it was meant to be a more multi-player game. Gathering the resources needed when you're completely alone takes some time. Be mindful of this if you're not going to be online with others.

The game is a blast, even if it does crawl sometimes. Learning everything about the world is key. You can't just stay in the Meadows and Black Forest. You will have to cover some serious distance sometimes. Thankfully enough there are in game travel assistance. You can gain a lot of stamina and run for a very long time (especially after defeating the first boss) and there are portals you can create very early on.

Combat. You must truly prepare for a fight. I like to be an archer a lot, and this game serves that pretty well. It also serves up a heaping pile of in your face eat my metal sharp stick if you want to be more melee. All combat routes are good! You just have to level up your skills of course.

The food system is the most in depth edibles I've seen in a game for a while. Everything you eat, cook, and create has different effects on you. You can have lot of health with a smaller stamina bar, or vice versa. You can even balance out the foods to be mediocre in both HP and Stam.

You will need to explore a lot. I thought the game was fairly boring until I buckled down for about 2 hours and made some griding progress. Once I did though? Well . . . Aladdin was right
