2. It's not the age that's the issue with the i7-8700, it's that:
-It only clocks up to 4.6 GHz on a single core, which for Intel is pretty low, but it's a locked CPU so that also makes sense.
-No official overclocking support (have to use a BCLK OC which is trickier as it overclocks CPU, RAM, and other things on the board).
-IPC is comparable to Zen2 processors which is why it's around the same as a Ryzen 5 3600, not super fast and will bottleneck the 3080 even at 4K. It just doesn't have the performance to pull the full weight of a 3080.

1. 2666 MHz is actually slow, that spec hasn't been standard for quite a few years now, and it's barely cheaper than common 3200 MHz kits. Furthermore, DDR5 is the new memory standard and that starts at 4800 MHz, considerably faster than DDR4-2666. Combined with the fact that DDR5 offers dual-channel mode per single DIMM (2 modules is quad-channel), and much better memory efficiency and bandwidth, there's just no competition. Even just comparing DDR4-2666 to DDR4-3600, the current price/performance king for DDR4, it's a huge difference since most ~2666 kits have similar latency which results in terrible memory performance from a good 3600 CL16 kit. It's not "loser elitist energy," you just have absolutely zero clue what you're talking about.

You claim you can run 4K max settings with 144 FPS, which you're not getting in most modern 3D titles without making sacrifices.

It's not "loser elitist energy" to suggest that the problem could be the fact that you've paired an RTX 3080 with a five year old locked i7-8700, topped off with slow RAM. You're losing out on quite a bit of performance just by the RAM alone, the 8700 isn't that bad by itself with fast memory, but regardless it can and will present bottlenecks, even at 4K.

It also says a lot about your character when you resort to insulting people you've never even met just because they had an opinion you didn't agree with, and you've even sunk low enough to call Monk autistic, which is more of an insult to the autistic community at large. You'd do better to not use ASD as an insult, that's offensive to the people who actually struggle because of it, and being marginalized just makes it harder for many of them to form connections with people.

In Cyberpunk 2077, I can only get 50~60 FPS at max settings at 4K when FSR or DLSS is set to Ultra Performance, with an RTX 3080, i9-10850K @ 5 GHz, and DDR4-3200. The 3080 is the primary bottleneck.

an i7-8700 is on par with a ryzen 5 3600, it's really nothing special, and 2133 MHz RAM really limits performance on modern CPUs, hence why most people go for at least 3200 MHz now, no need to get upset with monk, bro
