Just play the game, don't look up anything.

This is the best battle royale game out there at the moment. Only problem is their refusal to add quads, but there are duos.

I got to play the beta for this game way back in 2017, and I've since logged over 300 hours of playtime. While you should know that the game is more or less done with content, the stuff that's in the game is very fantastic. While there are some bugs here and there, there's nothing I can recall that's game breaking, rather more annoying than anything else. Community is, well, it's a Red Orchestra game, so expect the drudges of human society to show up. Overall, I'd say this game is an 8/10.

However, one thing I should note is that mod support is a little scuffed at the moment; essentially, servers cannot run stuff like the Winter War mod and the Gameplay Overhaul Mutator, without the server being unranked. So don't go into this expecting to play mods, at least for now.

So, the last time I really played this game was in 2010. I followed ClementJ64 on YouTube back in the day, so of course, I was excited for this! I was only 10 at the time, so I had no idea of the controversy this game had back then. I also only had a Wii, so I was stuck with that version of the game until this year. I didn't remember really disliking it, maybe being a bit bored with the four levels I had. I decided to give it another shot, see if it was really all that bad.

Yeah its that bad.

First off, the physics didn't present too much trouble for me, except for this one part in Casino Street where you have to run out of a U-shaped crevice. My natural instinct was to spindash up and down the sides to try and gain speed, but that just wasn't happening. Instead, it turns out you're supposed to just run up the side. That's pretty dumb, especially for a Sonic game.

Now, the real problem with this game comes from the zones. There's only four of them, but hey, for a $10 game when its not on sale, that's not horrible, right?

It is when half the zones are terrible. Splash Hill and Casino Street are clear rip offs of Green Hill and Casino Night, but I think these are actually quite fine by themselves; I even had some fun with them. Lost Labyrinth and Mad Gear are based off of Labyrinth Zone and Metropolis Zone, respectively. Dear god, these two are awful. Lost Labyrinth is basically what people who hate the original Labyrinth Zone think Labyrinth Zone is like. Mad Gear Zone somehow managed to make Metropolis even WORSE. Getting through these levels is a complete hell with the different physics. Lost Labyrinth Act 2 in particular has a platforming puzzle in the middle that took me nearly six minutes to complete, which is ABSURD for a game like this. This isn't to mention the bosses, which involve my least favorite boss types: Crushing boss and Running boss.

When two out of the four zones in the game suck, its just not worth it. I couldn't even bring myself to finish the final boss, since not only is it cheap, but its just plain bad.

Overall, not only is this game NOT worth full price, it's barely even worth $2.49. But worst of all, this game was a waste of development time and energy. Easily the worst game Dimps Sonic game. Episode 2 isn't amazing, but at least that isn't completely terrible. Buy that instead.

Game's fun as hell, but sadly its pretty short. I will say, the modding community is great, and the levels are a blast to run through!

Alright, so, a couple things:

1) If you want this game to truly shine, you need to get something called BetterSADX. Basically a modpack that makes the game look more like the Dreamcast version, fixing some bugs, and keeping some of the good upgrades the DX version has, such as the Game Gear games. You just need to get the SADX Mod Manager.

2) This is one of the few games that I can say I've 100% completed. However, I did use a chao editor to get the five chao emblems, just to make my life easier.

That being said, this game was ultimately worth the 46 hours I put in. While I probably won't pick up the game again for years, its a solid game overall. The worst part about the game really is Big the Cat, mostly because he's unfitting for a platformer, and the fishing can be quite infuriating when they just won't reel in.

Still, I liked every other character in some way. The story is actually pretty intriguing, though not presented in the best way. For being 22 years old, it's still very fun once you get a hang of it.

Damn, this is what an expansion should do, this could honestly be a full sequel if they extended the length by a few hours.

This came out before I was even born, and it still plays pretty well. Of course, it shows it's age, particularly in some of the level designs, but it's definitely worth it for the experience and history.

One of the absolute best RPGs ever made, and it's a bullet hell game.

Can't exactly dodge bullets when the story makes you cry, man.
