If you've somehow avoided this game and everything to do with it in the last year it's been out, all I can say is you've half missed out and half lucked out.

Put quite simply, this is one of those must-play games. Beautifully crafted characters, solid game mechanics and a storyline that makes you question the things we take for granted are all doused in a gorgeous soundtrack that perfectly manipultes your emotions.

It's equal parts homage to, invention on and interrogation of classic RPGs. Don't let the bullet-hell-esque gameplay put you off - it's challenging enough to be fun for everyone without being overly difficult (unless you choose to make it so) and is varied up enough to stay fresh without huge increases in difficulty.

I won't say much more about it, because Undertale really is best enjoyed blind. If you dig the Mother series, classic RPGs or, like me, have a penchant for subversive media in general, Undertale is a beautiful experience you won't soon forget.
