Seems like a good enough port for an old game, but it's not for me, and I can't recommend it. Several of the games mechanics just felt either poorly implemented or purposefully dickish, and the end of the game seems like more of a test of patience for some sections.

A great remake that allows younger and older gamers alike to enjoy the story of one of the great classics of the survival horror genre. They've taken the original story and made it a bit more cohesive and well written, whilst keeping the general b movie style fun of the original, but making it not be as cheesy, and legitimately enjoyable. There are apparently some discrepancies between the content of the old RE2 compared to this one, but this game still has a large amount of great content. Up to 4 different playthroughs of the main game, three different difficulty settings for each, and then four to five side campaigns. The two main campaigns all have a good amount of variety between them, in terms of encounters, weapons, some minor locations etc. Highly worth picking up on sale if you can, but definitely worth getting even off sale.

Great fun, a variety of playstyles due to the sheer number of possible character build choices. Stealth vs Loud, Lethal vs Nonlethal, and then a lot of augmentations that can dictate what you open up. Several unique weapons and upgrades for said weapons keep the combat interesting, and the story, while maybe not up to the quality of the original, definitely keeps me entertained.

A great game that manages to capture the brutality of a post apocalyptic wasteland with a story that matches the environment as much as it does the characters. Combat is almost identical to the Batman: Arkham games, but last I checked, Batman doesn't german suplex people. Car combat is enjoyable but is still a bit clunky, even with the variety of weapons that can be acquired throughout the game. As an open world game, it has the large quantity of vaguely similar content, that allows for things to remain fresh by providing the player with different things to do. Tired of dealing with convoys, take your pupper out and disable some mine fields. Bored with infiltrating camps and blowing up oil tanks, oil pumps, snapping dudes necks, and more? Simple, go drive around and hit towers and snipers with a retractable harpoon. The world is also full of scavenging camps, that provide a steady supply of scrap (for upgrading the car and Max's abilities), and usually have extras to find that provide little moments of humanity, sometimes followed by a little cynical quip from Max. All in all, a highly enjoyable experience, if a little flawed, that can easily provide up to 50 hours of content if you're dedicated to getting it all done.

A delightful stealthy romp that allows you to play a variety of ways, from stealthy and nonlethal, to loud and lethal, and utilize a variety of powers that play to each. Teleport around, see through walls, stop time, render your enemies dead bodies to dust, and many more! Only time I've had a bad time with this game was a no powers run that gets a bit stale by the end, where the enemy positioning and level design can cause a bit of a ♥♥♥♥.

A fantastic RPG with stellar combat that goes above its contemporaries. Combat isn't quite as deep as games like Devil May Cry or Bayonetta, but it still manages to have surprising depth, entertaining combos, and a quality mix of abilities that add just the right amount of spice. The story is neat, but the game is very much more about the world and your character's place in it rather than having a phenomenal central narrative.

The game can be quite easy though, with side quests regularly overleveling the player, money being unnecessarily easy, and skills allowing you to get quality gear the moment you acquire a single piece of the newer tier of equipment. I highly recommend installing and configuring the
YSA Heartcore mod [www.pcgamingwiki.com], which reduces exp gain, player damage output, money gain, etc. whilst raising enemy damage output and generally balancing the game to be a fair bit more challenging. If you are at all familiar with combat systems like Dark Souls, God of War, DMC, Bayonetta, or even Kingdom Hearts 2, I cannot understate how much I'd recommend installing this. If you're familiar with the Fallout/Elder Scrolls series and their economies, regularly breaking them and acquiring mass quantities of cash, then definitely install it at least for the gold rebalance.

At the end of the day, this game is absolutely worth a playthrough or two, but maybe not for full price at the moment. The DLCs greatly add to the experience, giving new areas, NPC races to interact with, stories to enjoy, etc. and they recently raised the price of the whole game package (from around $35 to $53), which is a bit ♥♥♥♥, but oh well. Wait for a sale and get it cheap, it usually hits around $10 for the full thing.

A wonderful platformer with fun, memorable levels and worlds, plenty of content, and some bonus challenges that truly live up to the term. Only problem being that the bonus challenges can seem a bit ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

A classic, with phenomenal gameplay that mixed up the Resident Evil style whilst keeping the tense survival horror feel. Has plenty of content, with side campaigns, the Mercenaries mode, bonus weapons available in New Game Plus, and more.

A great game from the X360/PS3 era, with a fun set of weapons, a unique locale, and interesting characters. ♥♥♥♥♥♥ morale choice does poke its ugly head though. Just do the good choice unless you deliberately want to be a bastard. Only reason to choose the evil path is to get a few more upgrade points for killing them, but choosing the good path gives almost the same number of points and a few special abilities you can't get otherwise.
