Early Access Review
After playing games like lethal company and phasmophobia where I played for a little over 10 hours overs I nearly didn't do it again for this game, I'm glad I did tho. Playing this game gives that playing a nostalgic game but It's my first time all over again. The attention to detail is the biggest wow factor for me, all the subtle and not so subtle way to deal with monsters, the eyeballs, objects manipulating you voice or forcing hilarious text to speech messages. Playing by yourself is very scary ngl, after a while you understand survival a lot better but even then its still pretty scary. With a couple of other plays it becomes trying not to laugh in a serious situation simulator, the perfect mix of goofy and scary. The upgrades are decent and not over the top as to make the game too easy, good combos like tranq gun and any melee but you can get the same effect with most anything, just knock monster over and start whacking away lol. Some monsters can be pretty annoying like when you're surrounded by gnomes but also have to stay hidden away for a larger main monster. Developers seem VERY invovled which i absolutely adore, it makes me very excited for the future of this game, I hope we get more monsters scarier monsters without making the game too much more difficult, like the mouth breathing kidnapper invisible dude, not exactly a direct threat to your health but can certainly be unfortunate and also hilarious sometimes. Or the duck, not really a threat unless you accidentally try to pet it, asides from that it's almost that disturbing soulless pet that tries to sell out your location any chance it gets. My favorite monsters are the big tall dark stalker thing that screams loud (I don't know their names and don't feel like looking it up) and the slenderbaby guy, getting both of them at the same time turns into a true horror experience, uncommon but so good. Shotgun Gramps is a lot of fun with others as he really enforces the be quiet and still rule, but one glance at your buddy across the room will have you snuffling chuckles as to not die. Biggest thing i'd want down the line would probably be something like a carry over currency, ones you don't lose over time but are slower to gain (don't know the actual term for that), and to be able to use that for truck upgrades, makes the lobby hosts truck more fun and customizable like interior furniture upgrades and maybe even an expansion or two. I also really hope more fun Easter eggs get added to existing maps and to new once like the "are you still watching" tv. I think that's all I have to say. For $10 this game is well worth it even in this early version.
