Loved the first two. This one is a mess of audio bugs, horrible in game camera work that messes with aim and controls, general crappy controls especially in jumps and combat, etc. The story definitely has some good elements to it but also goes waaaaaay off the rails at other parts where I couldn't help but laugh at serious parts or just be confused or baffled at parts where I was supposed to be feeling something like awe or shock. Shocking how much this game regresses in terms of development from the first two.

Early Access Review
This game is just amazing. It also prioritizes the right things. Super fun mechanics in the game instead of prioritizing needlessly fancy graphics; also the graphics themselves fit the nature and feeling of the game perfectly.

This game can be genuinely scary, especially when playing alone or when you get separated from your teammates. It makes perfect use of proximity chat too. There's nothing quite like hearing the muffled screams of your friend in the distance followed by complete silence. Also the fact that this game requires like literally just 1GB is amazing. I am so sick of games requiring 100+GB of storage these days. This game is just amazing and I hope for all of the success for the developer. Dude out here really making this game himself and outperforming major gaming companies because he knows what the people really want.

Pretty solid game. But damn Lara survives so many things that would have killed her lmao.

Truly an underrated game. Lots of fun and great character moments. While I am not always the biggest fan of [cult plot lines (this one reminding me of Dying Light: The Following)] especially since it kind of takes away from the Sci-Fi aspect, overall I think it was done well.

Enemies are fun to kill, but there isn't too much variety with them. However, the game still poses a decent challenge, making use of upgrading your characters' abilities to help combat the differing enemy types. While you play as Star Lord, you still more or less have a direct input into the actions of the other Guardians in battles which is definitely a great feature as opposed to them being purely CPU.

The game packs some great emotional punches too and some plot twists that threw me. You definitely see the camaraderie between the guardians as well as their different dynamics. You get some great insights into their backgrounds and histories before even joining the Guardians which really helps a lot of emotional moments later. For example, Drax gets some emotional background info that the movies only somewhat mentioned. Additionally, while Drax does pose some comedic relief, in my opinion he is given a much better treatment than the version in the MCU as his humor is more natural and balanced with his warrior skills.

One thing to think of before going into the game: THIS IS NOT THE MCU. Characters will look different and act quite different than in the MCU. That's not to say that they are entirely different and unrecognizable in regards to their MCU or even comic counterparts (they are more accurate to their comic counterparts, actually), but that they are still distinguished from them. If you go into this expecting the Guardians to look and behave just like they do in the MCU, you will be disappointed (or relieved if you for some reason dislike them in the MCU). The closest one to the MCU, I would say, is Rocket who still maintains his gruff, sarcastic, and crude personality that helps hide his more tragic side. I honestly kind of like how they are represented in this game more than the MCU, and I for the most part love them in the MCU.

One thing to note, while there are multiple choices in this game, none of them really have too much impact on the ending. The ending will be the same no matter what with the exceptions of [having some characters return to make the final battle easier. Cosmo is best dog.]

Overall, I definitely recommend this game. An epic, space adventure with a likable, diverse cast of characters with unique traits and dynamics with one another as they, once again, set out to save the galaxy--scratch that--the universe.

Holy crap I am obsessed with this game. It's easily one of my favorites of all time. In less than two weeks I am almost done finishing it 100%; many nights up until 4am playing. The story and the characters are just incredible. I love exploring the world and uncovering the history.

My only big issue the data farming... Why on earth do they need my info like that? I have never had a game with such invasive data collection. I recommend going through your firewall to bypass that data collection.

Really hoping the sequel Horizon Forbidden West gets put on Steam someday too.
