New World by AGS is a fantastic introduction to MMOs. For those who have never experienced World of Warcraft, or any other developed MMO for that matter, New World will seem like an expansive world with a near endless amount of tasks to complete. The story embedded into the hundreds of quests is intriguing and will definitely pique the interest of anyone who may enjoy meaning behind endless grinding in an MMO.

There is, however, drawbacks to this title. The expansive world mentioned before is locked behind hours of grinding. Under normal circumstances, this would be expected of a large MMO; however, this game is very new and does not have nearly as much content to offer its players when compared to other MMOs like World of Warcraft. The quests, like other MMOs, are repetitive and will lose their grandeur quickly. This game seems to scale its difficulty on a slider. This means that enemies will be the exact same, with the exact same attacks and patterns, but do more damage. As someone who prefers uniqueness when exploring, this is a turn off.

I would highly suggest to anyone interested in playing New World to research the current issues that the game is experiencing and determine whether it is worth getting into the game now as opposed to later, when the game will almost definitely will have expanded to attempt and match its competitors.

Valheim is a sandbox survival game similar to games such as Minecraft or Terraria. Instead of having an infinitely-generated landscape, Valheim offers a procedurally-generated, bounded play area; however, it does not lose the excitement of exploration. The art style of Valheim is unique. It is an absolutely visually stunning game that does not fail to immerse its players into its world.

Unlike other survival games, with exception to Terraria, Valheim has a more defined path of progression. The norse fantasy will take you through a variety of biomes rich with their own challenges and rewards. Though, the player must spend a great deal of time conquering each biome or they will be faced with shocking difficulty from new mobs and landscapes.

Overall, Valheim has the most potential to rival Minecraft, Terraria, and other big-name survival games out of any other start-up survival game I have played. At less than a Gigabyte, this game packs in adventure, beautiful landscapes, an excellent construction system, multiplayer, and so much more. This game is a must-buy for those who favor survival games and want to experience something new while maintaining their favorite parts of other survival games.

Terraria is a fantastic survival sandbox that particularly piques the interest of those who enjoy working towards reachable, but difficult, goals. The immense collection of weapons and utilities that are available to players insure that one playthrough will never be the same as another. Furthermore, it also encourages players to explore a series of class-based weapons and armor, provoking similarity to an RPG. Terraria has continued to provide entertaining and rewarding gameplay since release, and is a valuable investment. I can almost guarantee that fans of similar games such as Minecraft or Starbound will find Terraria to be just as, if not more, enjoyable.
