I bought the game but to be honest, I could have waited for RELEASE 2 as my main interest is VR SUPPORT.

What to expect in Release 1:

One Car: Lamborghini Huracàn GT3
One Track: Nurburgring GP
Events: Special Events, Hotlap, Quick Race (AI)
Limited options, ForceFedback is not functional yet on all the controls...some works. You could use some wheels but not all are supported yet neither.
Many advanced options are disabled, you have the BASICS.
No option to change the driver seat yet. You sit on the left side only.

Graphically the game looks good but is not the best looking yet.
I'm forced to use AA like FXAA or TAA, there is no way to disable them. One thing that it really looks good is the rain, the wet road and climate is visually stunning, maybe it needs a stronger storm and lightnings.

The gameplay is minimal so far. But if you are eager to try it you could practice a lot and have a quick race with the AI and it is playable, and ... That's it. The special events might bring small variations but they are still the same track and car in the end, like hotlap event, and race.



Promising release.
But be aware, it is EARLY ACCESS.
EARLIER than most other EA that I have supported before.

I can only recommend this to big fans of the series, or people that knows that will end up buying this and want to get a cheaper price and more benefits in the future.
If you are not in a hurry, and if you are only buying for an especific feature...check the roadmap to decide better when to join the game.
In my case I might have waited for Release 2, but I want to provide support to new VR GAMES in advance :)

Warning.

This "game" have all the characteristics to be a scam.

- Forever Developing with only few things that actually work
- Gradual Features that actually add no real content
- Great Trailer.... Trash Gameplay
- AI on minimal state for the tech playable demo that is the level playable

The game promise things without results or different issues appear on the long run that further stops the developing...

The web site is also weird and have changed from time to time. This a cash trap in my opinion.

I'm Refunding the game but here is a quick review because the game is not bad only that it is extremely short.

The game itself is a simple but fun On-rails Shooter.
There are some destructible objects and explosions.
You are standing always on a moving platform, and enemies will appear through all the trip until you reach your objective.
Gameplay involves switching between shields, machine gun, single shot and lock-on Missiles.
Graphics are good as you can see, and there are some fun moments.
No bugs so far and I played using SS 1.5 (max value from the game)
It looks...casual...not bad...but still casual gameplay and only has 3 Levels, that's it.
It has another ARCADE MODE to replay it completely after finish it, with score rules like Arcades but ...these are the same levels :(

I'm about to refund it, only for being so short.
In my opinion the game is a 7/10 but extremely short as you could see here, this is gameplay in Story Mode (somehow youtube recorded the speed a little faster than the game real speed, the game is easier with a slower speed)

The game is visually beautiful and the combat parts are simple, but very good ones.
The game has a balance of 3 minutes of good fights and 20 minutes of boring "look for a color shape" gameplay,

The fight mechanichs have light attack, heavy attack, evade, close kick, block. The animation is incredibly fluid and realistic, and you have to think quickly if you manage to block or avade and counterattack and you will see even more difficult or multiple enemies fighting around. This is the best part of the game and it is a very good one.

Now the bad part (in my opinion) the so called "puzzles" are actually a sub game of "look for this". You see a symbol in a door that you want to open, then you have to look around in that place for a way to see the same. For example you see a hanging bone from a tree, but if you see it from a certain perspective those bones will look like the mentioned shape. So on advanced levels you have many options of shapes, or you have additional illusions that you need to discover.
However it sounds, the reality is that you will end up struggling in the same place walking around in circles, until you find the right spot or...it happens by luck, I´ve been around like 20 minutes on certain places.....and it is soooooooooo annoying.

And there is no "smart" solution, maybe you could think at least where could be the right perspective or the order for some illussions..but in practice there is not much to think, you will end up walking around the same place maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaany times :(

All these boring parts, stops the enjoyment you had with the fights....

Also there is an annotying thing, the game has a narration style that added even more boredom, you will hear many voices explaining things too much.
It is like hearing someone speaking 200 words that only 10 have meaning and the others are iterations or non sense..... ALL THE TIME.

I have refunded the game.

I play a game to enjoy it, and I can tell that I wasn´t enjoying it.

I finished the game TWICE and I loved it !!!

I enjoyed:

- The weapons !! My favourites -> Cyclone, Crusher, Thunderbolt, Nova, Hunters, Devastator and of course the beautiful <3 TIME BOMB <3
- The level design: If you could add some even bigger maps like those on Descent 3 that would be perfection, but besides that.... nice ideas, specially the end levels.
- The AI... woow.... robots run away and sometimes to ambush you gathering others, avoided creepers, surprised me many times...amazing... I'm going for the NewGame+ to see what else I could find
- Bosses !! Probably I could ask even more but I enjoyed the ones that are here....
- The secrets sub game : This is related also to the level design.... I enjoyed it a lot. And I liked to see that is balanced, some are easier and some require to think other clues.
- upgrades: You nailed it!! One of the best features in the game, I absolutely loved it, please if you can add one more level for an expansion I'll buy it !!
- The robots: I loved the variety, the Ai, the weapons and auto op situations.
- VIRTUAL REALITY ---> You can do a perfect circular strafe while side looking. And I swear I was moving my head as a reaction avoiding shots, or looking quickly to the sides up and down when I'm about to enter a suspicious hall. Incredible.. .. guys... is a gamer's dream.

My only complain is... I WANT MORE.

What a shame that I cannot enjoy Multiplayer action, I have too much lag to play correctly against those servers (can you improve this to South America Players?)

UPDATE: DLC is amazing too. Great level selection because they change the previous level design that was already great but this time the levels are very different ideas, first ones are shorter but have some nasty surprises, the others are some medium and very very large ones and you cannot use your holo guidebot on some so be prepared for a new level of challenge.

Another hit, seriosuly good with new enemies that have some devilish AI.

The first thing you are going to kill here ...is the fun.

One of the worst gameplay in VR Games that I ever played.

I have to recognize that the graphics have good potential, but that´s it.

If you want a quick review, the game is boring, the controls are annoying for many reasons, and there are mechanics that are also Boring & annoying at the same time.
One great example...the most basic action, walking, is made by Pointing to a fixed location (there is no free movement walking in the game), then you have to click with trigger, wait for a second (yes), point to the floor, and only after that wave your arms until you reach the objective, then, you are going to point to another location and start all over.

That´s it...you are going to kill the fun just by walking!!!

But there is some climbing moments, and some shootings too.
The shooting part have also a nice set of annoying controls, you have to keep the trigger pressed to keep the gun in your hand all the time, and then shoot with the trackpad...I´m not sure why, but it seems that developers didn´t understood the idea to use the trigger buttons as...triggers.
The AI sucks...a lot, the shooting is just covering and shooting the enemies when they rise their heads out of cover...then you advance ...and there is a story in between, and people insulting you to add more realism.


Maybe developers could fix all these things in the future, but for now, I decided to refund the game.

This game is Awesome now and it keeps evolving.
Totally recommended!!

Go for it !!!
The illusion of speed in VR in a futuristic bike is awesome and the game has great battle mechanics while racing or you have the options to drive a clean race too, but I prefer the weapons and powerups :)

UPDATE: The game evolved so good overtime. V-Racer added really good quality content like a brand new set of NEON DESIGNS for many tracks, new tracks, New cosmetics, revamped the entire UI, improved the campaign gameplay and it works better and better.

Every time I play it, I'm enjoying it a lot how amazing it feels in VR.

Instant Nerdgasm!!

I think I bought the HTC VIVE to see in the future a game like this one in VR....and now it is a dream come true.

I'm on vacations but I played offline a couple of hours on a friend's computer and I fine tuned the graphics and controls and started playing on dungeons and killing bandits....the game is amazing already with the very stock content...

I'm going to go fully mad playing and looking for mods when returning home and will expand the review.. but so far
THE WOOOOOOOOOW EFFECT is there...

I have to recommend it..... I felt like a child again enjoying and discovering everything in VR!!

UPDATE After more than 100 hours of Gameplay: BUY IT, install Vortex, and add some mods for Visual Improvements. You will get addicted also to add some more mods because looking this in VR is a DREAM COME TRUE.

The views are stunning, the controls work perfect, I love the physical gameplay with the weapons, aiming with the bow is incredibly fun, shooting magic, hiding, running, swimming, amazing...they freaking did it.

Bring your brown pants for Dungeons.

If you are scared of spiders in real life this will not help you at all, but "there is a mod for that"

You won't believe how amazing it is to see things from being in there, you will understand the real size of things that you always watched in a monitor in front of you, Monsters are real !!

UPDATE II : Well, I finished the main campaing for the 12th time and I modded the game in VR with many incredible results that I would never thought to have.
So yeah, Is a must have !!
Basically I keep playing Skyrim VR from time to time and I keep having an absolute blast enjoying it <3

UPDATE III:
Enderal... an amazing overhaul, appeared.
This is a separate new game that IS NOT Skyrim at all, it just uses Skyrim's engine + power to mod everything into a new RPG game with different rules; and a surprisingly well done main story to follow in the game.
There is a way to install it and play with Skyrim VR to have Enderal VR.

Game PORN!! yesss!!

I just finished it.... 26.3 hours.
One of the best FPS I've ever played! This game really surprised me for good...

Fun Gameplay: You could adapt your playstyle and go 100% stealth or Dual Wield Rambo Style ...I have to say I enjoyed both. And I do not like those games that you have to plan how to sneak behind enemies and go undetected.

Great Weapons : I do have that "Bioshock" feeling when using some weapons. The blend of an alternative Retro-Technology applied on the wapons surprised me. And you could gradually add certain features that go even beyond.

Amazing Graphics: I've played the entire game in 4k + HDR and it is GEORGEOUS and worked like charm, the entire game the performance went between 60-90 fps. My config I7 4790k+ gtx1080 + 16gb.

The entire plot was much better than many sci-fi movies, and there where surprising moments of adult humor, gore (a lot), and crazy situations all around....what a surprising trip is to watch some cutscenes.

Besides finishing the main campaign I finished also a couple of additional missions that could be unlocked by using some codes and playing a small minigame, the locations are revisited while playing these missions but there is a certain variety in the enemies and positions...is a way to replay levels with small twists. But I also enjoyed to practice some special kills or to get certain achievement.

I Loved to play this game !

I'm just starting playing it so I will update this review in the near future, but I had to say that it looks incredible so far...

EDIT: The game is awesome, and looks GEORGEOUS in VR, one of the best looking games around. Single Player Campaign content is way too short but very good. Multiplayer is super fun with good mission variety. There are few players around, but the game fills the empty spaces with bots so no worries. There are other gameplay modes like Survival for each ship (survive waves in different locations and gain ship experience). There is a very well thought ship variety classified for different roles, like fighters, bombers, stealth, support and you gain experience that allow to fine tune features, or gain cosmetics for ships and pilot.
If you have VR and enjoy Space Dogfights the game plays and looks awesome, but is short on single player mode. Even with that I have to say is a 8.5/10
