Far Cry Franchise never hesitates to present new creativity. Far Cry Primal is a prime example. A game depicting the plot of a stone age era, but it might sound boring and give a false idea of just roaming and killing mammoths. But instead, it’s a well-crafted experience of a lifetime. You not only face the dangers of human competition but the bloodthirst of wildlife too.

📝Story/Plot without spoilers
Takkar, our main protagonist, has seen the worse outcomes of his Wenja Tribe. But being a true Wenja, nothing can oppose his will of survival. The stone age shows no mercy, and only the fittest can survive. Will he be able to claim his victory over the danger and rebuild his community? Or will he die in the fate of wildlife?

🎮Gameplay
This is not a light-hearted roaming game. It’s fierce and dangerous at every step you take. Jumping right into the action usually diminishes the concentration, but here starting off with your tribe for a hunt and being surrounded by enormous mammoths sets up the mood perfectly. It makes you feel the rough and bold nature of our ancestors. After the cinematics, your journey for survival starts, while death and danger keep on lingering over your head and ready to face you at each turn.

Know your surroundings-
You are smart enough to acknowledge what’s good for you and what’s not. Attaining an expert knowledge of surroundings opens up the possibility of the crafting system. If you think you can kill a wild beast with just your bare hands, congratulations, you are allotted as his next full meal. Keeping your consciousness sharp, learn new crafting equipments for both striking and healing situations. But each idea needs components, thus, Hunter Vision comes into play. An anytime usable feature that allows you to highlight enemies, crafting materials, animals. But watching the world in grey and yellow kills the awesome graphic work of the game.

Hunting and Taming-
When you are in a wildlife encounter, there can only be one alpha. Either be the winner or become his food. Primal offers a wide variety of animal species showcasing interesting behaviours at different terrestrial locations. You don’t just kill a goat for food. You use its skin for advanced crafting too. Resting isn’t an option; you are prone to attack literally all the time. So, your best chance of survival is with a wild companion. Taming a wild animal might cause some hassle with all that stealth baiting, but the results are fruitful. You get a hunting partner, plus free rides and most importantly, a cute animal to pet.

Difficulty and Enemies-
The game feels fairly easy for multiple hours, but once you face your first boss, the sh*t turns real. Now the game is full-blown bloodthirsty gameplay. You are never safe, and nearly impossible to survive without a tamed beast. The difficulty is not well balanced. Sometimes you can clear the entire area just with your flying owl, and sometimes it takes a full army of villagers, weapons and beast just to make the boss say Ouch.

Primal enriches in enemy types too. From archers to melee to strong tanks, the human enemies are varied and forces you to follow a stealthy playstyle. But sometimes, they spot you from miles apart. Very volatile behaviour from AI enemies. Sometimes they stand in a corner doing nothing and sometimes ready to kill you and drink your blood. The same goes for animals. Even though animals follow a decent variety like hostile types, scared from fire types or not giving a damn type, they are still pretty hard to understand. Your deadly beast cannot identify the enemy and takes a long path to attack, plus him being afraid of water, how convenient!

Progression-
Staying alive isn’t your only goal. Becoming the strongest and fulfilling your tribal needs hold the same importance for the sake of survival. Doing missions for your tribe and keeping them safe acts as story progression. But there’s no limit to your tribe population. Recruiting skilled members and reaching a specific population count grants you various perks and rewards. These missions had straightforward tasks, but oh boy, the surprise encounters, along with a pinch of immersive cinematics, made them quite an experience. Each main mission was unique and heart throbbing. At one moment, you are collecting wood for your tribe member and another second drinking blood of your enemies and smashing their skulls.

Primal passes the quality testing for a creative stone age game. But there were various drawbacks like Hunter Vision ruining the game graphics, sides of elevated areas being slippery, forcing you to take a long U-turn just to climb a 3 feet high ground, dumb AI, minor bugs and God-like bosses. These drawbacks luckily get overshadowed once you get a hold of gameplay. There aren’t many games achieving stone-age survival this well. The game well balances the execution so that you don’t feel like a wild monkey running through the woods, instead learns the environment and adapt accordingly.

📷Graphics
To showcase a stone age, elements like environment, clothing, animals, and weapons hold the most importance. And Far Cry Primal successfully constructs the accurate vibes. Everything fits well with the timeline, except the grappling hook. That’s a bit of a stretch but neglectable if you focus on other successes. Top-notch animations and variety in landscapes make the map feel fresh at each step. Overall, a brilliant work of art throughout the whole gameplay.

📝Main Pros and Cons

Pros-
  • Good storyline.
  • 40+ hours of gameplay.
  • Hunting and crafting.
  • Taming of beasts.
  • Variety in gameplay.
  • Good graphics.

Cons-
  • Minor bugs.
  • Dumb AI.
  • Uneven difficulty.
  • Sponge bosses.
  • No change in weather.

🏷️Tips to new players
Tame a beast as early as possible. The problem isn’t the human enemies, but the wild animals that attack you randomly everywhere. So, having a wild beast with you is your only hope. The same goes for beast rider skill to unlock map quickly. Owl is very handy if you remember to use it well.

✉️Miscellaneous Information
Extra content/DLC-
If you are buying the DLC for an extra interesting mission, then please don’t. The mission in DLC is boring and not worthy. But if you are seeking other perks like tame perks and skins, then yes, it’s worth it on sale.

😇Honest Rating
Easy time killer with a variety of fun elements. Going on a hunt with your tamed beast is priceless. Missions are interesting, locations are beautiful, and most importantly, hunting is fascinating. The base price might be high, but it’s from Ubisoft, so a high price is expected. Wait for a good sale and sharpen your spear to jump right in front of a mammoth.

Roll Five Review

I Imagined The MC Attacking The Monsters By Throwing The Dice
Ever wanted to roll dice like a pro and obliterate monsters with sheer luck and strategy? Roll Five delivers just that. This dice-based roguelike deckbuilder mixes medieval fantasy vibes with fast-paced, tactical gameplay. Imagine assembling overpowered dice figures, smashing monsters into oblivion, and freeing a goddess named Fortuna from the depths of Tartarus. Oh, and it’s all wrapped in some truly drool-worthy pixel art. Let’s dive in.

About This Game

Storyline

The premise? Simple but effective. Fortuna, the goddess of luck, is locked away, and it’s up to you to bust her out using your newfound dice-mastering skills. It’s a fantasy tale that doesn’t try to be overly deep but perfectly sets the stage for a roguelike where every roll literally counts. The story mostly takes a backseat to the gameplay, but it’s just enough to keep you motivated as you venture through perilous levels packed with monsters, loot, and escalating challenges.

Gameplay Mechanics

Here’s where Roll Five shines. It’s like someone said, “What if dice games could be as strategic as deck building card games?” You start with one of 22+ decks, each with its own quirks, and roll your dice to deal damage, activate abilities, and conquer enemies. The dice don’t just roll; they transform into figures, and you can upgrade these figures with prisms, runes, and relics.

Every game run is seeded, which means no two playthroughs feel the same, but you can share seeds to challenge friends. With over 165 prisms, 70 relics, and a host of other goodies like potions and omega upgrades, the possibilities feel endless. It’s the kind of game where you start thinking, “Just one more run,” and suddenly, it’s 2 a.m.

The difficulty curve can spike out of nowhere, though. Some runs feel like an unfair dice-flavored gauntlet, but hey, isn’t that the essence of roguelikes?

Visuals & Audio

The pixel art in Roll Five is a feast for the eyes. The medieval fantasy world pops with vibrant, detailed animations, and the VFX when your dice figures hit enemies? Chef’s kiss. It’s flashy in the best way, with glowing numbers, dramatic attacks, and satisfying splashes of color every time you land a combo. The SFX backs it up with meaty thuds, crackling fire, and sparkling magic sounds that make every attack feel impactful.

The music, composed by Andrew Goodwin, is equally stellar. The atmospheric tunes blend perfectly with the dice-clashing chaos, keeping you immersed even during the toughest fights.

Pros
  • Addictive roguelike deck builder gameplay.
  • Tons of depth with 165+ prisms, 70+ relics, and more.
  • Unique, rewarding mechanics for dice rolling.
  • Gorgeous pixel art and slick VFX.
  • Atmospheric soundtrack that hits the right notes.
  • Insane replay value with endless challenges.

Cons
  • Difficulty can feel punishing, especially at higher levels.
  • Some minor issues (like localization errors) that need polish.
  • No achievements yet, which feels like a missed opportunity.

Conclusion

Roll Five is the perfect mix of luck, strategy, and chaos. It’s like someone took the dice mechanic from a board game, turned it into a digital masterpiece, and sprinkled in just enough challenge to keep you coming back for more. Sure, it has its frustrating moments, but the thrill of finding new prisms, crafting absurd combos, and unlocking secret decks makes it all worthwhile.

If you’re into roguelikes or dice games, this one’s a no-brainer. And even if you’re not, Roll Five might just roll you into the genre. Just be ready to lose a lot of sleep over “one more run.”

Great pricing for the amount of fun provided.

I started playing this game thinking, “How hard can it be to drag a ball to a pipe?” Two hours later, I was clenching my fists, determined to master this delightful nightmare.

📝Story/Plot without spoilers:
🔸 Game Over Please isn’t about a narrative—it’s about the journey. Your sole mission is deceptively simple: guide a ball to a pipe across 95 increasingly sadistic levels. There’s no villain, no plot twist, just you versus a seemingly difficult challenge. Each level tells its own “story” of frustration, failure, and eventual triumph as you hone your reflexes and strategy to achieve the ultimate goal: sweet, sweet victory.

🎮Gameplay:
🔸 Game Over Please thrives on the “easy to learn, hard to master” philosophy. Using only your mouse, you’ll drag the ball across intricate mazes littered with traps and obstacles. At first glance, the mechanics seem ridiculously straightforward, but the game quickly reveals its sharp teeth with devilishly designed levels that demand precision, patience, and persistence.

------🔹Each of the 95 levels is a new beast to conquer. Some require split-second reflexes to navigate moving barriers; others test your strategic thinking as you carefully plot your path through tight spaces. The levels are short, but you’ll fail—a lot. And yet, every failure is a lesson learned, and the immeasurable satisfaction of finally clearing a tough level is worth the grind.

------🔹What sets Game Over Please apart is its balance. It punishes you for mistakes but never feels unfair. The frustration it evokes is the good kind—the one that pushes you to try “just one more time” (which turns into 50 more tries). The game’s design is ruthlessly clever, ensuring you never get too comfortable. For those who enjoy chasing achievements, the challenges are multiple. You’ll find yourself replaying levels to get the achievements.

📷Graphics:
🔸 Minimalism is the name of the game here. The clean and simple visuals keep your focus squarely on the gameplay, which is exactly what’s needed. While it won’t blow you away with cutting-edge designs, the functional design complements the game’s intensity. Think of it as the plain stage for an incredible performance—it lets the gameplay shine without unnecessary distractions.

📝Main Pros and Cons:

🟩Pros-
+ Addictive gameplay loop.
+ Simple mechanics, yet challenging to master.
+ Clever level design with escalating difficulty.

🟥Cons-
-Very average soundtrack

😇Verdict:
🔸 The game is very straightforward and good fun.It does a great job of turning simplicity into sheer challenge. I would recommend it strongly for the addictive gameplay part and the perfect price point.

Aquatic Store Simulator Review

Something’s Fishy…
If you’ve ever dreamed of running your own store where guppies and neon tetras are the stars of the show, Aquatic Store Simulator might just be your jam. This game lets you blend business management with the calming (and sometimes chaotic) world of aquatic life. Think of it as part tycoon game, part aquarium simulator, and all about making your inner aquarist entrepreneur shine. But does it truly make a splash, or does it sink like an overfed goldfish? Let’s dive in.

About This Game

Storyline

There’s no big narrative here—no evil corporation trying to steal your fish or dramatic “save the aquarium!” quests. The game focuses entirely on your journey as a store owner. You start with a modest aquatic shop and work your way up to becoming the go-to hub for fish lovers. You stock tanks with exotic creatures, cater to picky customers, and manage your business by juggling prices, inventory, and aquarium maintenance. It’s less about a story and more about crafting your own aquatic empire.

Gameplay Mechanics

This is where Aquatic Store Simulator shines and stumbles. The gameplay is centered on running an underwater-themed store. You stock shelves with aquatic goodies, maintain aquariums, and set prices to keep both fish and customers happy. The standout feature is the aquarium management aspect—you’re not just throwing fish in tanks; you’re taking care of their well-being, adjusting tank conditions, and even breeding them. It’s a delightful touch that adds depth (pun intended).

However, some of the mechanics could use a little polish. Handling transactions at the till, for example, adds a layer of realism (you physically scan items!), but controls can feel clunky, especially when you’re switching between tasks or struggling to manage customer flow. Pricing items can also be hit or miss. It’s all about finding that sweet spot between fun and functionality, and the game doesn’t always nail it.

Visuals & Audio

The visuals are vibrant and charming. The aquariums are beautifully detailed, and the fish look lively enough to make you forget they’re pixels. The decorations and aquatic items are varied, and setting up tanks can feel genuinely creative. However, with over 500 items to use, the limited space in your store can make things feel cramped.

The audio is serviceable but not particularly memorable. It’s the kind of chill background music you’d expect in a relaxing sim like this. It doesn’t get in the way, but it doesn’t stand out either. Think “waiting room aquarium vibes,” which is probably on theme.

Pros
  • Unique concept: Combining business management with aquarium care is fresh and engaging.
  • Aquarium setup: Maintaining tanks and keeping fish healthy is oddly satisfying.
  • Customization: From fish to decorations, the variety gives you creative freedom.
  • Realistic touches: Scanning items at the checkout and pricing merchandise add to the immersion.

Cons
  • Limited longevity: Once you unlock most features, the gameplay becomes repetitive.
  • Clunky controls: Switching tasks and using tools can feel awkward.
  • Space constraints: The store feels too small to fully embrace the vast inventory.
  • Needs more content: The game could use updates with additional fish, aquariums, and customization options.

Conclusion

Aquatic Store Simulator is a charming and enjoyable simulation game that makes running an aquatic store surprisingly addictive. The mix of business management and fish care is a winning formula, especially for fans of tycoon-style games or anyone who loves aquariums. But it’s not perfect—the limited content, repetitive gameplay, and occasional control issues hold it back from being truly great.

If you’re looking for a fun, laid-back experience and don’t mind a few rough edges, it’s worth diving into. However, if you’ve played its apparent predecessor Aquarist, you might feel this one comes up a little short. Here’s hoping the developers add more content and updates to keep the waters fresh.

Cheese Co-op Clicker Simulator Review

Honestly, Who Hates Cheese?
Imagine a game where you’re a mouse on a cheesy mission, and the only thing between you and dairy domination is how fast you can click—and maybe an army of monsters. Cheese Co-op Clicker Simulator is a multiplayer extravaganza that lets up to 100 players team up to hoard cheese, smash enemies, and upgrade their mousey abilities. It’s absurd, it’s simple, and yes, it’s surprisingly fun. Grab your clicking fingers and some friends, because you’re about to dive into a world of cheddar-fueled chaos.

About This Game

Storyline

Okay, I’ll be real—there isn’t much of a story here, but that’s not what you’re playing for. You’re a mouse. You want cheese. There are monsters, and you need to squash them. Somewhere along the way, you realize that teamwork makes the dream work, especially when that dream is becoming a cheese tycoon. It’s like the plot of Ratatouille if Remy had ditched the kitchen and gone full capitalist.

Gameplay Mechanics

The game is as clicker-y as it gets. You click to collect cheese. You click to spend cheese on upgrades. You click to fight monsters. Honestly, clicking is 99% of your life here, but the sheer variety of tasks keeps it engaging. There are tools to equip—pickaxes for mining, hammers for repairs, swords for monster slaying—and each one is essential for different parts of the game.

The co-op aspect is where this game really shines. With up to 100 players working together, it feels chaotic in the best way. You’ll find yourself shouting (well, typing) things like, “Hey, someone fix the robot!” or “Boost up the Taxi!”.

The upgrade system is a bit clunky and could use some polish, but when it works, it’s incredibly satisfying. Oh, and there’s a taxi and a robot? That somehow generates cheese? Sure, why not.

Visuals & Audio

The game’s visuals are bright, colorful, and almost cartoonish, which fits perfectly with the lighthearted vibe. The animations are simple but charming—there’s something oddly satisfying about seeing your mouse swing a tiny pickaxe or bash a monster with a hammer. The audio is cheerful and energetic, though after an hour of clicking, the music might start to feel like a looping cheese-induced fever dream.

Pros
  • Addictive gameplay: You’ll lose track of time faster than a mouse finds cheese.
  • Co-op madness: Playing with others adds a chaotic layer of fun.
  • Simple mechanics: Easy to pick up and play for gamers of all skill levels.

Cons
  • Repetitive clicking: Your fingers might stage a rebellion.
  • Confusing upgrades: The system needs better explanations or a tutorial.

Conclusion

Cheese Co-op Clicker Simulator is the perfect game for when you want something simple, chaotic, and oddly satisfying. It’s the kind of game you boot up with friends, laugh at the sheer ridiculousness of it all, and then realize three hours have passed, and you’ve somehow become emotionally invested in cheese production. Sure, it’s a bit repetitive, and the upgrade system could use some love, but the fun outweighs the flaws. Just don’t blame me when your fingers go numb.

Forestygian Demo Review
Forestygian is a deckbuilding game where you use different cards to support your character as he fights through a list of enemies. These include gaining mana to use abilities, adding statuses to improve various aspects of the character, and chaining effects to increase the power of everything you do.

The Crashing
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3368159356
This is here because I had huge issues getting the game to run. It would literally crash every minute or so. Luckily it did save the progress exactly before shutting down so there wasn’t any progress loss in the process. I couldn’t find a way to resolve the issue. My specs are a Ryzen 5 1600 and a 1050 TI with 8 GB of RAM.
This is the only reason why I can’t recommend the game at its current status.

Characters
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3368158933
Choose one of the 7 characters and fight hordes of enemies. Each one has different abilities but they all have similar aspects to them. The first ability deals small damage but hits many enemies, while the last one hits just the first enemy but deals massive damage. Other characters may have special effects as well. It’s up to you to try and test them all to find out which suits your playstyle the most.

Enemy Variety
One of the more important aspects of a deckbuilder is enemy variety and Forestygian handles it pretty well. All enemies have an ability of their own and throughout the fight, there are always at least 2 or 3 different types of enemies on screen. Their abilities range from taking double damage while at full hp (essentially trying to stop you from hitting all enemies at once) to healing for some hp each turns to increasing damage they deal for each hit taken. This concept creates a puzzle you have no solve in order to progress. Choosing when to play which card and which ability to use to deal damage or kill the enemies is crucial to clearing the stage successfully.
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3368159452

Game Progress
After each combat, you get to choose one of 2 upgrade paths, adding a card to your deck and some statutes. These statues can be hit an extra enemy or gain more mana with additional triggers based on the number of cards in hand, max health, or current mana. All these can add up to create insanely potent turns which will allow you to obliterate enemies in your path with ease.
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3368159585

Video & Audio
The game looks good. There aren’t many animations but the visual style is good, the UI is clean, and everything is visible and accessible. I especially like how you can get any information you need at a glance. How many enemies remain? Visible. How much damage is each enemy doing? What is total damage coming your way? Everything is displayed, yet the screen doesn’t feel cluttered at all.
There is not much to say about audio. It has sound effects and no music from what I could tell. The sound effects are decent, but nothing spectacular, just your usual grunts.

Positives & Negatives
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3368160113
The Good
  • Great and Intuitive UI
  • Character and Enemy variety
  • Fun to play when it works

The Bad
  • The Crashes – can’t stress this enough
  • Could use some animations
  • No card draw increase

Rating: 2/10
In its current state the rating is 2/10, but with some updates and when it works it can become a solid 6 or even a 7/10.

Solid value for fans of the first game or action platformers, delivering exciting gameplay and improvements worth the price.

📝Story/Plot without spoilers:
Ghostrunner 2 picks up immediately after the events of the first game. The story revolves around you, the Ghostrunner, Jack, continuing your fight to free Dharma City from the clutches of a tyrannical force. While the narrative isn’t the game’s primary focus, there’s enough to keep you invested in the world and characters. A more robust story is told through interactions with your fellow rebels, each with their own unique backstories, making it feel more grounded than the first game. However, the plot still takes a backseat to the exhilarating combat and parkour.

🎮Gameplay:
First Impressions-
From the first few minutes, it’s clear that Ghostrunner 2 improves on everything that made the original so special. The first-person, one-hit-kill combat is as satisfying as ever, but now there’s more to manage. The addition of a stamina meter adds a layer of strategy to your mobility and combat, as you need to carefully manage it to chain dashes or block attacks without leaving yourself vulnerable. The new abilities—like the shuriken that turns enemies into grapple points—make combat feel fresh, giving you more options in how to approach fights.

Core Combat-
The combat system in Ghostrunner 2 is just as fast-paced and brutal as the first, but now there’s more depth. You’re still looking at one-hit kills for both you and your enemies, which makes every move feel crucial. You’ll be darting across platforms, dodging bullets, and chaining kills in rapid succession, all while managing your stamina and utilising new abilities. It’s a rhythm that rewards quick reflexes and smart decision-making. If you’re a fan of games like Hotline Miami or Katana Zero, you’ll feel right at home.

What sets this sequel apart is the expanded moveset. Blocking, which was previously a secondary tactic, has now become an integral part of the gameplay. It’s especially helpful in boss fights, where the usual strategy of dodging and parrying might not always be enough. But the stamina meter limits how much blocking you can do, so it’s still about timing and positioning rather than just brute force. Combat encounters require a careful balance between attacking, dodging, blocking, and using your special abilities.

New Abilities and Upgrades-
Ghostrunner 2 introduces some fantastic new abilities that give you more ways to interact with the world. The Shadow ability is especially fun, allowing you to turn invisible and create a decoy to distract enemies while you prepare your next move. Flux, another powerful ability, lets you fire a continuous laser beam to mow down groups of foes, making it a great way to clear out swarms of enemies. The shuriken, now available on demand, can be used not just for ranged damage, but also for strategic movement, allowing you to grapple onto enemies or key points in the environment. These new abilities change how you approach combat and platforming, offering more dynamic ways to handle each encounter.

Parkour and Platforming-
The parkour gameplay remains smooth and fluid, with wall-running, rail grinding, and pole-swinging returning in full force. But Ghostrunner 2 also introduces more variety. Certain sections require you to use the Shuriken ability to power devices, or the Shadow ability to avoid dangerous obstacles. These environmental puzzles, combined with the parkour mechanics, keep the action feeling fresh and engaging. The pacing of platforming challenges keeps the adrenaline high, and they’re a welcome break from the combat-heavy sections of the game.

Level Design and Challenge-
The level design in Ghostrunner 2 is excellent. Every stage introduces new elements—whether it’s new enemy types, environmental hazards, or platforming mechanics—that keeps the game feeling exciting throughout its 10-12 hour campaign. Boss battles are varied and require you to adapt your combat strategy, especially with the new abilities. Some of the encounters are punishing, but the game's generous checkpoint system ensures that the frustration level remains manageable. If you die, you respawn quickly and can immediately jump back into the action, which is crucial for a game that’s all about speed and precision.

Replayability-
There’s a lot of content to keep you coming back. The core gameplay loop—slashing through enemies, solving environmental puzzles, and upgrading your abilities—feels rewarding, and there’s always something new to discover in each level. While the combat and parkour mechanics are solid, the lack of a more engaging story and the occasional repetition in enemy encounters might put off some players looking for a richer narrative experience.

📷Graphics:
The visual design of Ghostrunner 2 is a treat for fans of cyberpunk aesthetics. The environments are beautifully detailed, ranging from towering neon-lit cities to grim industrial landscapes. The game has a consistent style that blends futuristic tech with dystopian elements, the smooth animations, vibrant lighting, and slick transitions between platforming and combat create a visually cohesive experience. The fluidity of the character movements and environment interaction feels seamless and enhances the fast-paced gameplay.

📝Main Pros and Cons:
Pros-
  • Incredible combat mechanics
  • Expanded abilities
  • Motorcycle fun addition
  • Great level design
  • Stunning visuals

Cons-
  • Weak narrative

🏷️Tips to new players:
Ghostrunner 2 is all about precision and a lot of retries. Don’t get frustrated or back out if you constantly die at a particular level. Each level has its own challenge, so make sure always to remember to use your abilities.

DeathOmen - A DemoNight Review

Never Has a Demo Felt So Scary
If you’ve ever thought, “I want a game that makes me regret every decision I’ve ever made at night,” DeathOmen - A DemoNight might just be for you. This demo offers a bite-sized, anxiety-ridden appetiser for the upcoming full course of terror. It’s not here to coddle you. Instead, it asks, “Can you survive one night?” The answer? Probably, but at what cost to your sanity? Let’s dive into what this demo gets right and where it might leave you feeling haunted.

About This Game

Storyline

There isn’t much hand-holding here. You’re tossed into a night of survival, aware only that some ill-fated souls before you couldn’t make it. Your goal? Avoid becoming the next victim of the ominous Death Omen. It’s cryptic and minimalist—just enough to make you wonder about the bigger picture while leaving room for your imagination to spiral. The story feels like it’s whispering, “This is just the beginning,” while quietly plotting your demise in the background.

Gameplay Mechanics

The demo is about tension, timing, and the thrill of outsmarting the dark. The scares range from fixed jumpscares that hit like a hammer to subtle “micro-scares” that mess with your head. The randomness of some jumpscares keeps you constantly second-guessing yourself.

It’s all very lean-forward-on-your-chair. Clocks tick louder than your heartbeat, and the game leans into its atmospheric elements to amplify fear. There’s a heavy reliance on environmental storytelling and survival mechanics, though nothing too deep—it’s a demo, after all. Still, it’s enough to make you want to come back for more (or never play again, depending on your fear tolerance).

Visuals & Audio

The visuals are a masterclass in “less is more.” Dark corners, flickering lights, and grainy textures do more for the ambiance than any over-the-top effects ever could. The lighting works to create a sense of claustrophobia, making every shadow feel alive and every hallway look endless.

The audio deserves special praise. The creak of a floorboard, distant whispers, and those maddening ticking clocks all work together to make you feel like you’re being hunted. Even the music, which occasionally peeks through, feels like it’s been ripped straight from a nightmare. It’s hauntingly subtle—exactly what a game like this needs.

Pros
  • Atmosphere for days: Every second feels oppressive in the best (and scariest) way possible.
  • Randomised scares: Keeps you from getting too comfortable on repeat playthroughs.
  • Perfectly creepy audio: Seriously, those clocks alone deserve an award.
  • A taste of terror: It’s short, but it does what a demo should—it makes you want the full game.

Cons
  • Short and not-so-sweet: It’s a demo, so it leaves you wanting more—maybe too much more.

Conclusion

This Demo is like a horror appetiser—just enough to make your heart race but leaves you hungry (or terrified) for the main course. The atmosphere, the audio, and those delightfully nasty jumpscares make it a standout demo, even if it does lean on some genre clichés. If you’re a fan of horror, this is a solid way to spend an evening, assuming you can handle the nightmares afterward.

Days In Palis Review

At First, I Thought They Misspelt Paris…

Days in Palis takes you on a brief but visually stunning journey through the lives of three captivating women in the sprawling metropolis of Palis. This early-access visual novel focuses on love, ambition, and emotional struggles, wrapped in a linear narrative that feels more like a short story than a traditional game. With its richly designed characters and polished visuals, Days in Palis has the potential to evolve into something memorable—but does it deliver in its current state?

About This Game

Storyline

The story places you in the shoes of a down-on-your-luck recent college graduate, navigating life’s pressures in a city that feels as overwhelming as it is vibrant. Your dreams of landing a high-paying job have been crushed by a dismal economy, leaving you stuck as a barista in a café. Enter three women who could very well turn your life around—or make it more complicated.

First, there’s Isabella, your boss, a mature and nurturing figure who offers kindness and stability. Then there’s Niki, the energetic college student you meet at a bar, whose lively personality is a stark contrast to your current struggles. Finally, Camille, your no-nonsense landlord, exudes power and materialism but hides layers waiting to be unravelled. Each interaction offers a glimpse into their worlds, making their personalities the driving force behind the story.

However, the narrative is entirely linear, with no player choices or branching paths. It’s essentially a visual journey through a carefully crafted script, relying heavily on the emotional weight of the characters. The story is heartfelt but brief, clocking in at about 30-40 minutes, leaving players yearning for more depth and interaction.

Gameplay Mechanics

The gameplay in Days in Palis is as straightforward as it gets. You’re here to click through dialogue and admire the visuals—no choices, mini-games, or branching paths to explore. It’s all about absorbing the story at the developer’s pace, which may be frustrating for players looking for a more interactive experience.

The gallery mode allows you to revisit unlocked scenes, which are divided into multiple parts and provide varying perspectives with different camera angles. This feature is nice for replaying the more intimate moments, but it lacks the emotional context of the original playthrough, as only the action is included.

Currently, the lack of interactivity feels like a missed opportunity, though the developers plan to add more content in future updates, including three additional female protagonists and potentially deeper mechanics.

Visuals & Audio

If Days in Palis shines anywhere, it’s in its visuals. The static images and animations are rendered in crisp 2K resolution, bringing the characters and their surroundings to life with impressive detail. Each of the three protagonists has a distinct design and personality that comes through in their expressions and environments. From the confident Camille to the bubbly Niki, each scene feels carefully crafted to draw you in.

The sound design is limited but effective, with the addition of sound effects enhancing the animated scenes. Unfortunately, there’s no voice acting yet, which could have elevated the characters further. As it stands, the audio is serviceable but doesn’t quite match the quality of the visuals.

Pros
  • Gorgeous Visuals: Stunning static images and animations bring the characters to life.
  • Distinct Characters: The three protagonists are well-designed, each offering unique appeal.
  • Promise for More: Early access status hints at more content, including additional characters and expanded storylines.

Cons
  • Extremely Short: With a runtime of 30-40 minutes, the story ends before it truly begins.
  • No Interactivity: A fully linear experience with no choices or gameplay mechanics.
  • Limited Content: Only a few scenes and animations, leaving the experience feeling incomplete.
  • No Voice Acting: The lack of voices leaves the characters feeling less vibrant.
  • Abrupt Ending: The story concludes so quickly it feels unfinished.

Conclusion

Days in Palis has potential but is currently little more than a proof of concept. Its stunning visuals and distinct characters suggest a promising future, but the lack of interactivity and limited content make it hard to recommend in its early-access state. As it stands, it’s a quick, linear experience that’s over before it has a chance to leave an impression.

If you’re intrigued by the visuals and want to support the developers, it might be worth keeping an eye on Days in Palis as it evolves. Otherwise, it’s best to wait for future updates when more storylines and gameplay mechanics are added.

Lilith Rising - Season 2 Review

Succubus? Yes please!
Season 2 continues the journey of the exiled prince in this mediaeval fantasy world packed with battles, romance, drama, and—let's not ignore it—plenty of steamy moments. It’s a choice-driven adult visual novel that blends epic quests with a sprinkle of mythology, a dash of mystery, and a lot of, well, "hands-on" relationships. With eight episodes, over five hours of gameplay, and some well-crafted animated scenes, this game aims to up the ante from its predecessor. Does it succeed in sweeping you off your feet? Well, yes and no.

About This Game

Storyline

In this season, you reprise your role as an exiled prince whose mission is to reclaim his kingdom from the grip of a sinister demon-worshipping cult. The plot picks up seamlessly from the events of Season 1, with you and your band of companions now focusing on gaining the strength and resources needed to defeat your enemies. The central quest revolves around locating ancient relics tied to each companion's past, powerful artefacts that will help you in the inevitable showdown. These relic hunts aren’t just about magic and battles—they serve as windows into each character's history, beliefs, and struggles, giving the journey a more personal, emotional core.

What makes the story engaging is the balance between high-stakes fantasy drama and the personal relationships you form along the way. Each companion is tied to a specific location and quest: you might venture to the Hephaestus Forge with the strong-willed Freja, or to the Mountain Sanctuary with the enigmatic Ishi. These settings are not just rich in mythical world-building but also themed around the personalities and cultures of the characters, adding a layer of depth to the adventure. As you travel and face challenges, the narrative makes room for both heartfelt moments and steamy encounters, keeping the tone varied and engaging.

However, while the overarching plot of saving the kingdom is intriguing, it often takes a backseat to the interpersonal drama and romance. The story structure is highly episodic, with much of the narrative progress tied to completing each companion’s quest. Choices influence who you spend time with, which affects your relationships and the possibility of forming a harem, but the main storyline remains linear. There’s a sense that this season is setting up for bigger things in Season 3, acting more as a bridge than a standalone narrative arc. While enjoyable, the lack of significant twists or meaningful consequences in your choices may leave some players feeling like passive observers in their own adventure.

Gameplay Mechanics

This is where things get both engaging and slightly underwhelming.

What works:
  • Choice-Driven Narrative: Every dialogue choice influences your standing with the characters, nudging you closer to either romance, loyalty, or harem-building. While the choices mostly revolve around who gets your attention, the interactions are fun and bring personality to your companions.
  • Scene Replays: A gallery mode lets you relive unlocked intimate moments—a nice touch for fans of the genre.

What doesn’t work:
  • Linear Progression: Despite the illusion of choice, the main story ploughs forward without much deviation. It’s less “Choose Your Adventure” and more “Choose Who to Flirt With.”
  • Quiz-Style Recap: Instead of importing a save from Season 1, the game asks you to manually input your past decisions. It’s clunky and breaks immersion.

While the game’s mechanics won’t blow you away, they serve the purpose: keep the story moving and let you focus on your relationships.

Visuals & Audio

The visuals are undoubtedly one of its strongest assets. The static images and animations are high-quality, with impressive lighting and realistic 3D models. The variety in character designs ensures that every companion stands out, catering to diverse tastes. However, there are minor inconsistencies—some sex scenes are oddly lit, not matching the in-game setting, which can pull you out of the moment.

The soundscape is decent, with an original score and sound effects that add atmosphere. However, the lack of voice acting and sexual sound effects is noticeable, especially during the more intimate scenes. For a game so focused on character interactions, the absence of voices feels like a missed opportunity to bring the cast to life.

Pros
  • Detailed Visuals: Beautiful renders and animations, with dynamic camera angles during key scenes.
  • Engaging Characters: The companions are well-written, with distinct personalities and backstories.
  • Fantasy Setting: The mythology-infused quests add depth to the world.
  • Replayability: Unlockable galleries and multiple romance options encourage repeat playthroughs.
  • More Content: Compared to Season 1, this instalment offers more scenes and character interactions.

Cons
  • Linear Story: Despite its choice-driven premise, the main plot doesn’t feel dynamic or impactful.
  • Recycled Mechanics: Manual input of past choices is a step back from more seamless systems like save imports.
  • Limited Innovation: Sex scenes, while well-animated, remain vanilla with few surprises.
  • No Voice Acting: The lack of vocal performances leaves characters feeling less vibrant.

Conclusion

This game feels like a solid, if slightly safe, follow-up to its predecessor. It excels at delivering what fans of the genre expect: visually stunning characters, steamy scenes, and just enough plot to tie it all together. However, its shortcomings—like the linearity, lack of meaningful choices, and absence of voice acting—prevent it from fully capitalising on its potential.

If you’re invested in the series or enjoy mediaeval fantasy with a side of romance, you’ll find plenty to enjoy here. Just temper your expectations regarding gameplay depth and narrative complexity. For newcomers, it might be worth trying Season 1 first to see if the series is your cup of tea.
