Pros:
Being able to customice your arisen and pawn and rent from others is still fun and a unique characteristic of this franchise
The main pawn lore, personality and interactions can be more engaging and rewarding than DD1
Warrior rework is decent and overall an improvement, Mystic Spearhand is decent
There's a lot to explore, learn, try and improve with your character and pawn, progresion in DD is usually a decent experience
I would lie if I said that collecting random ♥♥♥♥ from the world with your pawn isn't hella fun

Negative:
They are charging you US$69,99 for a incomplete (again) game that also RUNS LIKE ♥♥♥♥
The main topic of DD1 is will, freedom and individuality, topics that are extremely rare on mainstream media, DD2 developed these topics even LESS, the story is WORSE, MORE incomplete and nonsensical
Character writting is overall WORSE than DD1, there's so many character who entire role is to exposition dump only and do NOTHING the whole story
Most story "choices" don't have a real consecuences, not even death which isn't permanent for most characters
Most main quests are horrendous, in DD1 they send you to at least 3 dungeons one being the peak of the base game, on DD2 almost all the "quests" are ONLY fetch quests even the MAIN STORY ones
There's not a SINGLE actual dungeon on this game, just linear caves or arenas, almost none of them have some kind of deep design
Art direction, specially the music feels extremey generic compared to DD1
Less skills than DD1 means less player expresion, the loop they tried to force with the vocations (which I UNDERSTAND WHY) does NOT work with most classes and was NOT necceasry to remove active skills selection
Some controls are worse (Fighter and Ranger for example) they swaped the block button for no (good) reason, Ranger no longer can fire with R2 like a 3rd person shooter, these changes weren't neccesary to make on first place
Class design is overall worse, they "fixed" things that weren't bad and reworked things that worked and remplaced them by stuff that don't work, Fighter lost most of his original animations cancels (Wariror almost all of them), Ranger has no real defensive skills, Mage and Sorcerer can't even shot focused bolts while MOVING while other clases (Thief) keep most of their identity and have a insane pool of tools to deal with anything including animation cancels to the point Thief has a skill that dodges EVERYTHING WTF????? OH MY GOD, the class balance, design and identity is a complete mess, no wonder why they only chosed people that never (actually) played DD1 to promote this game, literally any DD veteran could point ALL of these issues the moment they grabed the controller, this game was 100% made for modern audiences and the lowest common demoninator that never cared about DD on first place
The Sphinx is garbage, interesting character that gets wasted over gimmick "riddles" based on mostly just luck and not intelligence at all, I've solved better written riddles from random free japanse visual novels
Dragonplague is a garbage no need to explain why
They didn't fix pawn's spell/skill priority
They didn't fix enemy variety
They didn't fix the infinite healing from items
Bosses, specially dragons where heaviy nerfed and simplified to be able to be beated by guttered classes with no defensive skills
They removed under clothing and arm armor, armor scaling worse and uglier than ever, in DD1 armor looked so much better with muscular or fat characters, in DD2 most armor lookos so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bad with a single pixel or extra muscle or fat
They keep adding these armor full of unnecesary ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ugly details why are game devs so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ obssesed with that ♥♥♥♥??? PLLLSS STOPPP IT ALREADY
Capcom put OFFLINE pawns to be hired around the world instead of online only (facepalm) HAHAHAHA
Despite having TWO DAMN DRMs HACKED PAWNS ARE EVERYWHERE (LITERAL CLOWN WORLD)
They simplified pawn behavior customizacion like removing mitigator/challenger
Not everything in the character creator is an improvement, they didn't include MANY hairstyles of DD1, the muscle and fat optins are more limited and worse, faces are asymetrical by default no option to change it, noses are attached to the base head, pawn voices are locked to inclination, and MANY other details (killmonger hairstyle being the cherry on the top LOL)
Unmoored World is a complete downgrade from DD1 post dragon with everfall, almost everything on this game is a drowngrade from the original and even DD online
Borderline racist and xenophobic censorship with pawn names which are locked behind the arisen language (if you're NOT a native english speaker you will see most pawns with monikers ONLY and your friends WONT see your pawn name AT ALL) you only can change your arisen name and pawn when new game plus and not the character editor WOW
Still no way to have more characters slots witihout family sharing
Moderinty, lowest common demoniator, the AAA industry is dying, literally insert almost everysingle modern trope issue and you will see it in someway of shape of form on this game what else you want to tell you?
I'm going to keep editing this review and ranting about this game you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like it or not, ♥♥♥♥ you if you got a problem with it ((buy whyyy u do keep playing if u dont like it then???) cuzz this is my favorite franchise ever are you dumb? and cuz i like my pawn use your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ brain
Also don't buy this game DO NOT BUY THIS GAME until they at very least fix the performance
Also there's so many ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ augments with flat values or bare minumun % that are complete useless god

There's a notorious lack of hairstyles, DD1 had more
I can't give my characters the same hairstyle or something close to what they got in DD1
Pawn and Arisen voices don't have the same voice options like DD1
Pawns voices are locked to their inclination which automatically will make pawns "all the same" when the "meta inclination" kicks in, DD1 didn't do this
Voices have like no very deep voice options, DD1 had more variations of the same voices, even SoulCalibur VI (2018) lets you manually modify the voice pitch
There's no nose presets like DD1, it took me forever to be to make a "latino" looking nose, DD1 had at least TWO presets that looked exactly like that
Body hair options are limited, lazy and and outdated
There's no bulge option for male characters and they all look even more like kendolls than in DD1 like Capcom devs have a phobia for male anatomy, AGAIN
Beards are outdated becuase they don't let you choose mustaches and the rest of the beard separately automatically limiting the options with assets you already have, AGAIN
You can't even give female characters a lil cute mustache EVEN when moderm Capcom screams ESG, AGAIN
Muscle options "feel" very limited, Dragon's Dogma online had EVEN MORE bodytype flexibility
Muscle options are overall GARBAGE and I legit ask myself if I'm doing something wrong but I CANNOT get a strongman and strongwoman look like DD1 AT ALL
Minimun height is 1.60 (DD1 is like 1.45) almost implying that very short adult men don't exist and that the average adult woman in most of the world isn't 1.50
You can't make a fantasy dwarf or a true dwarf human like DD1
They wasted time and resources on a fantasy race that almost nobody of the OG fanbase asked besides a loud minority when they couldn't even deliver the human options propely
Demo confirms that DD2 will have DRM enigma

The character creator doesn't live up to the legacy of the first game nor the hype created by Capcom and while it improves many things SPECIALLY on the face options which where very limited on the first game, this is overall mediocre. I hate modern games. I hate modernity and I hate Capcom lazyness.

Cringe ass people that never touched DD1 on their lives much less completed it will defend this becuase they are desesperate to play whatever game is popular and hyped at the moment until the next popular game arrives. Just like the cringe ass streamers that never gave a ♥♥♥♥ about DD1 who where nominated for the "oficial pawn" which is a middle finger to all the content creators and the true OG fanbase that made this possible om the first place.

I completed the game 100%, it was a nightmare. EVEN when this game was MADE for people like me, those that want to see original and unconventional protagonists, but that selling point isn't good enough, this game is painfully low budget,

The character writting is barely good, the plot is weak and despite that I'm someone that enjoys playing and watching indie media but holy ♥♥♥♥ the combat, but specially on the hardest difficulty is so broken, artificial hard and with at least 2/3 death ends/points that will make you retry at least 20 times each EVEN abusing the armor points glitch, something that could have been easily solved if they gave you X2 EXP on the hardest difficulty.

Not even the amazing music of Olivier Deriviere  can save this badly designed game. Play the goblin games instead.

Pros:
-Excellent music
-Some later levels are well done and fun
-Good weapon variety
-Actual puzzles

Cons:
-Terrible camera, controls and aiming
-Bad plot and forced drama and deaths
-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awful early levels and broken badly designed enemies
-Repetitive, linear and not a real survival horror
-No fixed cameras and many mechanics that made Obscure, Obscure
-No unlockable, no difficulty setting, no replayability
-Is basically worse on everything but music and weapons

Don't waste your time with this game, just watch it on Youtube, at times, it even barely feels like a game but an interactive movie.

-Easy survival horror progression with challenging combat
