I think I'm gonna stick out like a sore thumb here, but I don't think this game is really that fun.

The core gameplay is pretty cool. Lots of work put into the guns, death animations for enemies, explosive affects, and what not. However, the gameplay loop is where it starts to fall short for me. So, you play missions to unlock new stuff and then what? Use that new stuff to unlock more new stuff? This seems like a deep rock galactic situation all over again (another game I find boring, but has good core mechanics). I don't find the award of doing more of the same thing over and over again rewarding with slightly new gear that most of the time just explodes or shoots a different way. The side objectives are boring and repetitive. I don't wanna load up an artillery cannon. I don't really care about that cause I have something better on repeat every 3 minutes. I don't really care to walk around the whole map looking at the same "Points of Interest" to pick up a singular common sample. The grind just isn't rewarding enough. There's no strategy other than to shoot more or use your utility more. It's the same enemies over and over again (deep rock galactic moment).

*UPDATE* I played it a little more and I like the enemy variety at higher difficulties. The gun play is still good, but it's not a game I would play solo or with randoms still. Definitely gonna stick this one in the party games category.

Total Rating: 6/10

Other issues I have with it:
  • It's an always online game. When are companies gonna realize this is dumb especially for a PvE game?
  • The servers suck.
  • Consistent performance issues for people cross playing with console.
  • Online store is super dumb for pointless ass cosmetics.

I will make sure to update this review if I change my mind about anything.

So, I think I was around the halfway mark in this game when I uninstalled it. It's simply too boring to finish. It had so much potential, but the story is pretty atrocious. Deacon doesn't even feel like a real character. The gameplay had so much potential, but is stuck behind some weird weapons system. Bike versus bike combat is stupid. I was playing on Hard II difficulty and the enemies were just bullet sponges. The AI was good for both the freakers and humans, but it wasn't enough to keep the combat fresh. Half the missions have some sort of walk with an AI part that can't be skipped and usually consists of some dumb off topic conversation that kinda goes with the story, but half the time it's just filler. Zombies are basically none existent during the day, which makes sense with the story wise, but it makes daytime boring. Bike upgrades are boring and revolve around reputation and camp credits. In order to get more credits: do missions or hunt zombies or animals. Hunting zombies and animals is kind of a joke. I think that system would've been a lot better if they weren't just worth like 20 credits and very little rep. This whole system made it feel like a grind to get some silly upgrades to do even more grinding. Play state of decay 2 for a overall better zombie game experience. 4/10.

Very similar to the original Insurgency, but a lot better. This feels more like a more fast paced shooter. Definitely the best realistic shooter this year. Definitely recommend. P.S. The community isn't cancer like CS:GO.

Early Access Review
Alright people, here is why I decided to give it a thumbs up.

The overall game concept is extremly unique. It is a mixture of cities skylines and Rimworld in some aspects.

The art style is nice. It has a very colorful feel.

This is the part of the review y'all may or may not disagree with but allow me to show y'all why I reccommend this game.

This game has the potential to be a very fun, replayable, deep game that I could play for days on end. It is not there yet. As you can see I have played 3 hours as of writing this review and I have acquired most of all the research that is currently in the game. Sure, it is incomplete, but it is not broken.

Honestly, there isn't a happy medium when it comes to developing a game. It's either the game is released as a 1.0 and is still broken to hell and no one can actually play it, or the game takes too long to complete because the developers want to make it perfect but people are impatient. What would you all rather have: a game in which you pay $30 for and you feel like you have been scammed, or a game that sits in your library for a while but will eventually become a masterpiece.

I get it, everyone (including me) can be a little impatient but the development team said they are going to release monthly updates and those will be pretty big updates from what I presume. The devleopers also explained how everything you saw in the trailer is an actual piece of the game, but it is not up to the quality standards of being released yet.

So, is the game perfect right now? No. Does the game have the potential to become perfect? Yes. In all honesty, I would buy the game right now to support and encourage the development team. Otherwise, I would wait and keep it on your wishlist. There are big things coming for this game and it is definitely worth keeping your eyes on it.

I'm going to be honest. This game is one of the best story driven games I have ever played in my entire 17 year old life. The emotion, the stress, the fun, the mechanics, the storyline, it is all there my friends. It doesn't get much better than this game. Corrupt or not corrupt, so many more decisions. I am on Day 5 and I absolutely love the feels and the aura of mysteriousness that surrounds this game. I would reccommend this to anyone that is a casual gamer and wants to play something new and fresh all around.

I'm a huge stratagist I have always been since I had play LOTR Battle for Middle Earth. Ever since Wargame European Escalation I have loved this series. It's been a while since I thought about this series since so recently there have been so many good games that have come out. So I bought it today and I love this game they added jets and all that fun stuff. I highly recommend this game who loves stratagy games.
