I would recommend this game however there are some things that must be noted.

This game by itself is a 10/10 , no doubt about it.
The classic vibes is still there , there is some awsome artwork to look at , some canceled level designs which they could've just added to the game (Would have made it even better) and i did enjoy the cosmetics that came with the package.

However i am worried about ubisoft!
Cause these addon content , clearly shows / hints to me that Beyond Good & Evil 2 is still alive and well.
However i am not so sure about Ubisoft and their current history , which makes me fear for BG&E2 should it even come out.

And even though it does explain a few things about Jade's past & about her 'Pirate' Family that once was when she was a child , i am worried that Ubisoft will destroy BG&E2 like they did with many titles.
Especially the mother of Jade gave me WOKE / DEI vibes , not because the char looks horrible , but just because Ubisoft releases one failure after another , destroying one loved game title to another and i HONESTLY would hate to see that happen to BG&E2

And even though i did buy the game for 15 euro's which was well spend!
It aint because UBISOFT is awsome!
I am not paying the 15 euro's because i believe Ubisoft deserve it.
I spend it in the HOPE that they proof me wrong SHOULD they think about continuing BG&E2 that was promised to us long ago!

And since the addons are NOT done by the original creators and since UBISOFT seems to be on the path of SELF DESTRUCT , i am not entirely sure what to think of it.

If they want to destroy the game / series / title.
Then i rather have BG&E2 never coming out!

So please UBISOFT!
Learn from the mistakes and failure games and make BG&E2 great!
If you have to BOW down to 0,01% MAKE it OPTIONAL please and not MANDATED!
Or just don't bother making BG&E2.

Cause by this release i am getting 2 different vibes
1: Beyond Good & Evil 2 is still coming! (which makes me worried but Happy at the same time)
2: We are gonna bait you into hyping for BG&E2 to then DESTROY that beloved game like we did with all the others.

If this game has child memories for you like i did for me then it's worth the 15 euro's!
If it's not then i am not sure whether you should place trust in Ubisoft cause even though i bought it , i don't trust them 1 bit at the moment.

So entire review in a nutshell!

Great game , nothing wrong it with classic as can be!
I loved the addons but that in combo with Ubisoft current past makes me fear for BG&E2 and i do not want to see another beloved game destroyed just due to GREED , PROPAGANDA , etc

IF you must add the pronounce nonsense , etc UBISOFT then please for the love of the gods make it OPTIONAL to turn it OFF entirely!
Not Dragon Quest Veilguard style where you dissable it but still be bothered with it during cutscenes , etc
Cause we don't care about that crap (Sorry if this offends anyone , but this is my opinion)

And for the love of the GODS!
Stop calling us GRIFTERS and whatnot!
It doesn't help Ubisoft!

So all in all i both RECOMMEND it but also kinda NOT!

It's not as bad as i feared it would be , but it's far from perfect obviously.
I don't like the intro , i miss the Xardas voice but i am / was supprised to see that THQ wanted to get our feedback at atop of that in 2019 instead of waiting till like early 2020 which is a fresh sight to see.

But with all that being said i have no choice but to mark a few things as a Hardcore Gothic fan.
And this is more about a heads-up warning then bashing THQ but it has to be noted so that they will know.
But don't let the investors force you to release a game when it's not finished yet , i would rather have you expand the date , then releasing it un-finished like Gothic 3 , G3 Forsaken Gods , Gothic 4 , G4 Fall of Satariff
Even Elex was very disappointing after buying it and i fear Elex 2 will just again be the same.
A quick money grab , so again i must say this is a refreshing approach of things.

But back to the game itself.
The Combat system is clumsy just like Gothic 1 and as weird as it may sounds , i like it , it just needs some adjustments.
The NPC voices are really lamely done , they sounded like they were not in the mood to read those lines.
The intro is less powerful then the intro of the old Gothic game.
I mean he was brought to the LIFT? instead of the Colony? No welcome to the colony?
And i understand you want to build a story about the main character but the whole point of the nameless hero is that he doesn't know anything about his past , only that he is chosen by the gods for some reason.
But my fear is that the background story will be wrong and in-accurate with the storyline of G1 all the way to G4.

And even though most people claim Arcania G4 has no place in the Gothic Series are heavenly mistaken.
I have played all Gothic Games including the sh!tty ones like FG & G4 FoS , and the story does indeed connect.
But because it was fan made , and totally screwed in the way of it's story it became hated by most and ofcourse also due to PB attitude of giving us half bakked games.

But again back to the task @ hand

You could ask your community to voice you're chars and select the winner either by community or yourself.
I am pretty sure there are plenty of fans out there , that would love to help :) [like myself]

Other then that it's supprisingly better then i hoped for and trust me when i say it's nowhere near perfection but it's already better then FG and G4 + FoS combined and that says something.
Go try play those games and think again about PB doing the remake of G1 , G2 , etc

All in all the 10 hours i spent into it , well worth it.
But i am far from being satisfied enough to buy the game on day 1
But it's a good start , so keep it up!

I would gladly have this idea for all area's of the game to maximize the gameplay for all.
Now we have the begin area , but also do Old Camp , Sect Camp , New Camp , certain chapters , etc
Even if that means locking certain other area's to prevent us from exploring the whole game before it's released.

As a HARDCORE gothic fan with easy 1k hours spent in all Gothic Games i would love to play more of this game , to ensure it's success and it's re-awakening.
Gothic got threated like ♥♥♥♥ by it's own developers / investors and i hope you [THQ] won't make the same mistake.
Keep this up and i will buy the game , but allow us to give feedback on most area's if not all :)
We gladly do it free of charge well atleast i do :)

So all in all Not bad for an Alpha of a game that's to be released in 2021 :)
But do not lose your sight on the prize , the re-awakening of these GREAT SERIES!

Yes it needs some work but which game doesn't? I have already given feedback towards LolindirLink and he is already working on fixing certain issues.

But this game is a whole lot better then Fallout 76 and that game cost $60 XD @ release ;)

I did buy the game in pre-alpha :)
But since he gave me the key way before game was released i marked it with a free key.
Because i invested into it before it was on steam ^^ ^^

Best RPG in the world
In 2021 still not a JOKE!
Had to update it somehow for the Nomination Event XD [2022]

Great old school Role Playing Game and the first of it's Series.

Gothic I is one of the best games within it's series along with Gothic II.
Large open world game where you have 3 path's to take.

-Templar (Sect Camp)
- Fire Mage (Old Camp)
- Mercenary (New Camp)

Even though the game is old , and heavily outdated when it come's to Today's Graphical Appearance the gameplay it self is one of the Best in the RPG world.
Listen to the Story Line , play all game's of it series and trust me , it's beating most RPG's today.
The Series itself contains 6 titles where the total story line continues.

Gothic I > Gothic II > Gothic III > Gothic III Forsaken Gods > Arcania Gothic IV > Gothic IV Fall of Satariff (not sure if the last one is a different game but as far as i know it is.)

Gothic I & II are in my opinion the best gothic games of it series , but it was totally worth the entire package.

Played Risen? Liked it? Play Gothic :) .
