Best hate-the-protagonist simulator available.

There's good reason this is considered one of the best visual novels, it definitely made me feel a certain way. The art is great, the writing is very good, and the soundtrack is hands down the absolute best part of the whole package.

Be sure to get the 18+ patch on JAST if you want to question your sanity that extra mile.

After a year of basically no good games we finally get something that's enjoyable.

We back, mecha people, we back.

Easily one of the best Super Robot Wars games ever. Not to mention the triumphant return of L-Gaim to the franchise (and, more importantly, Dancouga via DLC). The game has tons of stages and content and the DLC, while perhaps a better option on sale, add a considerable amount more alongside great new units and pilots. The game is also super easy to jump into without prior SRW experience and, in general, is amazing.

I, personally, have completed this game a total of five times (three on PS4 on release and twice on PC after Winter Sale) and still am not tired of it. On top of that, I've gone as far as getting the complete achievement list on both platforms just because I enjoy the game that much. For real, this game is amazing and if you have any interest in mecha anime then this game is a no question top tier choice.

There's several reviews saying that Blue Revolver is one of (if not) the best shmups available on Steam and I agree completely with that statement.

First and most importantly is the fact that down to the basic gameplay of the game, it is extremely enjoyable and fulfills all of the needed criteria for a great shmup. The game offers two characters with each character having four super weapons to choose from which gives the game a great deal of customization for different play styles and plenty of replayability. The option of three difficulty levels also keeps the game pretty fresh for multiple playthroughs. However, on top of that, the game offers a Mission Mode which offers a considerable roster of mission-ccentric overlays of levels in order to offer more challenges for players.

In addition to the gameplay and mechanics, though, is the fact that it is an extremely colorful and artistic game. The look of the game is fantastic and the soundtrack is top notch shmup fare, but the inclusion of several fanarts from various artists that you can unlock using currency gained in-game through runs is a very nice addition. The art is fantastic and can even be set for mini-wallpapers, which is a surprisingly artistic touch for the game. Also, the game has an interesting level of lore to it, which I enjoy the amalgamation of magic and technology in it's storytelling which tends to be a big thumbs up for me when utilized in background lore in media.

All in all I would definitely recommend Blue Revolver in general, it is well worth the honestly rather cheap price tag for anyone who enjoys shmups whether it be casually or competitively.

First and foremost, the play time here is not accurate as I have played PBS for a much, much longer time on PS4 in the past. The fact I was willing to get another copy should speak for itself.

In my personal opinion, PBS is hands down the best arena shooter of all time. I'm not the biggest shooter player, to be fair, but at the same time I've always enjoyed playing PBS. Even outside of the fan service, which I in no way am going to claim isn't a strong point in it's favor, I think it is in general a fun experience from a gameplay experience as Senran games, to me, tend to be very well made for games that on the surface level appear to be fan service games alone. There's also the personal point for me that it gives me the vibes of water parks in my youth and because of that I'm usually in a very pleasant mood when playing the game on top of how much fun it is.

I may not recommend it at full price for a casual player, but on sale I think it and even some of the DLC are totally worthwhile. I never really played it multiplayer since I played it originally on PS4, which is much harder to get a good multiplayer experience unless a super popular title generally, but I think it would still be fun to play with friends. All the same, I am a huge fan of the game even solo and would recommend it to anyone who just wants a laid back, no deep thought fun experience, and even more so if they're particularly cultured and enjoy the Senran Kagura franchise.

Early Access Review
So, I'm huge into mecha, I'm sure almost everyone who plays this are and I gotta say that this game is pretty mind-blowingly awesome for someone as picky as me. I've seen multiple reviews saying that it's an amazing combination of Ace Combat and Armored Core and I agree with that completely, and all the allusions to various mecha anime and such also totally get me on board with it in general.

The controls are extremely responsive and well thought out, none of it seems difficult to use and it maps well to both keyboard and controller so there's no loss for anyone in terms of having to settle for one control over another. The graphics are really good and it runs really well, it doesn't seem to get bogged down or lose it's edge even in the middle of intense combat, so you can stay into it quite easily. The real shining point to me, though, is that there's actually quite a variety of mechs. Most games like this tend to skimp on the playable mechs, usually because it's hard to program this much stuff as an indie game I'm aware, but this game offers quite a selection. Also, as a Muv Luv fan, I like the fact that the mechs follow a similar basing on modern day aircraft as well.

Really I have no honest complaints about the game, I like it quite a bit. I would like an online multiplayer and more mechs, sure, but I wouldn't list the either of those under a complaint. Besides, this is early access, so there's always time to add such things in. On that topic, also, this game is really, really good for an early access game, for the most part it's very well polished and set up and doesn't play like half a game.

I've only started playing this game, but I'm pretty much in love with it. I've been wanting a 'proper' mech game for my computer for some time, and while there's good stuff like Front Mission Evolved and some typical shmups that do a good job, this game just hits everything. As a huge mecha fan, I'm in love with the fact that this game plays quite a lot like Zone of the Enders and I'm impressed that even the characters are interesting, it really feels like a real mecha anime. While I've only gotten a few stages in at the time, I can just say I'm super impressed. While there's no actual customization for the mech, the weapons and attacks the game already has for your machine makes it feel really awesome and you can feel like a total bad ass while fighting your way through all the enemies. Also, in a complete weeaboo way, I like the fact that the audio track is Japanese since it just feels like real mecha that way. Also, speaking of audio, the music in the game is really good and kept me really pumped all the way through.

I'm a fan of shmups, especially vertical ones like this, and I have to say I'm honestly quite impressed with this one and enjoy it. I actually read a few reviews before purchasing this game for myself and saw quite a few saying that Crimzon Clover is similar to the DoDonpachi games from Cave, and while I have never played Dodonpachi I have played some of the Cave shmups and have always found them quite fun and I honestly believe the people that compare this game with Cave developed games were spot on. It's a really fast-paced and visually stunning game with really awesome music which are really three things that every good shmup need at the very least, I also appreciate the fact that the controls themselves are very responsive and things such as enemy bullets standing out amongst all the crazy action (a feature I also noticed in Danmaku Unlimited 2, which I also recommend) make the game very fun to play rather than being just a generic shmup that often end up more difficult just because they're not very well defined.

Also, I want to point out above all else that the Boost Mode is pretty amazing and makes this game at least twice as fun as it started at. I'm sure other games have similar mechanics, but it's the first time (at least in recent memory) I've seen a mode as interesting as Boost. Not only does it make the game 100% more explosive and hectic, it also gives you an additional challenge in trying to make sure you don't lose your Boost and go back to (temporarily) being a peashooter. Also, with the addition of the Type-Z (which requires progessive unlocking, which I honestly haven't completed yet but am working on), the game actually has additional replayability, which is a nice plus for a shmup.

10/10 would danmaku again.

As a person who enjoys playing shmups and bullet hells in general (even if I may not be exactly 'good' at them), I have to say I am super impressed by this game. This game has all of the things a shmup should have: Smooth mechanics, responsive controls, wonderful visuals, clear differences between enemy fire and power-ups, great music, and a difficulty level that is not too difficult nor too easy which still ramps itself up at a pace that makes the game enjoyable and not boring. I'll admit I've only played a little on easy mode to test out the game, but I highly doubt the other difficulties will be any different in terms of the smooth upscale in it's difficulty.

I haven't done a whole lot with the customization, yet, but it seems to be very well done. It doesn't require an over-reliance on micromanagement nor is it too simple that it's a non-issue. The actual game mechanics are also simple and small enough that it doesn't bog down the entire game, but still not minor enough that it makes the game super generic. All of this means that you can certainly play the game how you like depending on your play-style (I, generally, play more with focused weaponry and just watch my ship to dodge instead of focusing on enemies, and the game screen is clear enough to do this quite well and doesn't throw too many stupid curveballs at you that make this tactic ineffective.).

Also, as I said before, the game looks very clean and plays very smoothly. Your ship, enemy ships, power-ups, and enemy fire are all clearly defined so you won't find yourself flying into an enemy bullet while thinking it's a power-up very often, which is a pet peeve of mine for shmups. Pretty much if you fly into a bullet, it's your fault and you can't really blame it on the visual definition even when the screen starts getting wild. The controls are also very tight, if you tap an arrow key you move just that much and you don't end up floating too far to the side and screwing yourself over. Basically it's perfect for a bullet hell.

10/10 would danmaku again.
