I have heard a lot about the game ranging from positives to negatives.

Still I enjoyed the first 3 games and I was going to play this regardless.
I only have 7 hours in the game...of which 1 was spent in the character creation (details).. however until this point I only have 1 tentative negative about the game.. Sometimes I find that the facial movements or expressions don't match the tone of the voicelines.

Everything else feels great and it all feels like a clear evolution into what Dragon Age should be (imo). I will see how this changes if at all as I play through the game and update accordingly.

However I do believe the game is entertaining, is beautiful to look at and oh my god Lucanis is so hot..11/10 would romance.

Edit 2: After about 63 hours, I have finished the game, collected all collectibles (excluding about 20% of the codex but like whatever) and I have to say the game truly felt great. The story overall was by far its strongest point with many side stories (for the companions) all of which have been excelent, difficult to approach at times, however always respective to the individual related.

The gameplay is, in my opinion, still by far the best the franchise has seen, feeling smooth, enjoyable and fair (where u could definitely play this game on max difficulty without feeling hopeless).

The characters have been generally designed well both in their appearance and personality with few quirks here and there and I truly adore the cast..however I must say that there have been plenty of disappointments, especially relating to consistency, relationships and general interactivity. All companions have plenty to them...and yet it just doesn't feel enough. Their key aspects feel sometimes rushed (or not well established) at times and the romances all seem to be lacking in depth which is shocking since all the previous games felt quite good in this regard (as did Mass Effect (including Andromeda imo)).

I personally went for Lucanis and very little has happened with him as far as personality goes and the romance was sort of lackluster. I loved all that has happened and I truly love the character..there just wasn't enough.

I heard Emmerich is a much better choice to pursue if anyone is interested in that (potentially one of the best romances in the game as it stands).

I miss the signifcance of previous games' choices (but I am also not surprised they moved on from that (..just wish they had at least kept some significant choices).

I liked the tone of the game's storytelling and dialogue..but I will say I do wish our character had more opportunities to be a bit more..aggressive in a sense (like the Renegade choices in the ME trilogy)..which while very few ppl go for..they make certain decisions feel far more impactful.

All in all I'd give the game a 8.5 rating, it was absolutely worth my money, it was definitely worth my time and I can only hope they'll continue to deliver games (hopefully aven better in the future) like these.

Edit: After 44 hours in the game (doing basically all the available side content up to this point) I can say that the game remains great..and if anything it only gets better as the story unfolds (and the story is really well built with various highs and lows making it feel real (in a sense)).
What I do think somewhat lacks is the romance aspect (at least with regards to Lucanis) but I do like what is there already.

The game feels incredibly good to play.
The fighting feels responsive and I like the idea of combining weapons. I only wish the combo effects were slightly different based on the other weapon.
Still I have been having a lot of fun with the game and it feels like a game I will be playing for quite some time.

The DLC was clearly launched in a relatively unpolished state, however given the fact that they are addressing the issues on the discord and based on the fact that I personally encountered no bugs while playing I would highly recommend it as the content added is really enjoyable.

I feel like the story of this one lacks depth, however for hot 18+ MLM CGs it's super worth it. Taurus is absolutely hot and my character enjoyed getting split in half by him.

Cute little story from Y Press, introducing the character Balasque which can be seen more in the upcoming series Monster Ops by the same publisher. Note that this game is far smaller in length compared to other games such as Alpha Hole Prison or Monster Lover.

I've recently played this game, "Dear Monster", a yaoi visual novel that truly captivated me from start to finish within its world. The romantic and steamy scenes are handled exceptionally well, adding a layer of depth and intensity to the relationships. These moments are tastefully integrated into the storyline, however as expected from a game such as this, it does prioritise such scenes. I personally really enjoy this.

One of the highlights of my experience was the Imbriss route. He is, I'd say, the bad boy type of romance and honestly I really loved it. His journey is both heartwarming and somewhat heartbreaking as more is discovered, and the development of the relationship felt enjoyable.

For those who enjoyed Dear Monster, I highly recommend exploring other games from Y Press. The games Alpha Hole Prison and Morningdew Farms are equally addictive (especially AHP) each having their own environment and set of characters, offering rich narratives and well-crafted stories. Additionally, I am eagerly anticipating their upcoming release, Oni Onsen, which if anything like their previous games and based on the Demo I think will succeed yet again at providing an enjoyable experience.

TLDR: Dear Monster is a must-play for fans of yaoi visual novels. With its captivating plot, excellent writing, and memorable characters, it is completely deserving of the reviews it is receiving (positive ones anyway) and I personally recommend it.

This is truly a great sequel already and it can only go up from here.

I've almost reached the final boss on my last run(I believe I was 2 rooms away (there is some kind of indication but I will not provide any additional information as that could be considered spoiler)). It combines what Hades brought originally in a unique way and expands upon it with new concepts.

The weapons...some feel better than other in my opinion, but they all have their unique approach which will likely be someone's favourite.

The other unlocks all provide some nice changes to the pace of the runs and it's even nicer that you're slowly enhancing a lot of aspects compared to the original Hades which was quite limited in this regard.

There are some art pieces that have not yet been implemented but realistically, none of the gameplay functionality I've encountered thus far is missing so I am happy with that as this is an early access.

Absolutely worth the money already in my opinion and will only get better as more time goes by.

Edit: Have just beaten the final boss for the first time. The game just keeps on giving honestly. Whether you buy it now or wait until its full release you will have a great time.
