A dream come true...almost

Sometimes I wasn't sure if the story was set in the 19th or 21st century...blacks on every corner...
that annoyed me more than the poor optimization

That's true, but it has nothing to do with it at all...the creators just wanted to be politically correct again...disgusting

But that's not canon unfriendly in the wizard world, no? They distanced themselves from the human society in 1692, and after that they became more focused on whether a wizard is or isn't a pureblood.
