Don't let the total review score fool you, this is one of the best games I've played in a while, with some of the best developers I've seen out there. Despite it running on duck tape sometimes, Being overloaded beyond what the servers could handle, and Sony trying to kill the game with PSN, the community has shown how much they care about this game and are ready to unite for a common goal.

I love democracy.

I once grabbed a gnome, threw them into a chandelier, watch them fall to the ground, then get crushed by the same chandelier falling off the roof.

Hell yeah.

I played Overwatch 1, and I really enjoyed that game. I never asked to be dragged into this sequel with broken promises, awful balancing, removed content, cash shop, and the worst battle pass I've yet to see in a game.

Genuinely ♥♥♥♥ this game. Go and buy Borderlands 2 or something along the lines of that instead.

This game disappoints me.

I'm not trying to come out as a hater just because the game has changed in alot of ways and "It'S nOt WhAt I wAnTeD". i've played this game since it was an alpha (both when it came out and recently), and i had hoped the long wait would have been worth it, but it just doesn't feel like it. This is by no means a awful game, or even a bad game, but has really questionable design choices that makes it hard to enjoy. For this review, i'm gonna talk about what the game is about, the flaws, and what could be changed for the better.

SO, what is Cube World exactly? Cube World is a voxel-based action RPG about exploring the world. You go around different regions, collecting gear to power yourself up, finding relics to unlock new areas, and acquiring artifacts to permanently improve your character. In concept, this is a great idea, but in execution it is... less than stellar to say the least.

What the fack do i do?
Let's start with the tutorial, or, lack there are. Actually no, there's literally nothing to help you. You're simply thrown into the world, no direction, no objective, no clue where to go. All the game does is tell a few button controls, that's it. Now yes, i know some people like the idea of being thrown into a game with no help. But if someone like me, a veteran cube world player, has to go on twitter to hear from the DEV HIMSELF how i'm ment to play the game, i consider that as failure on the games side. Heck, there's still things in the game i have no clue what is about, because the game refuse to let me know.

Exp, whats that?
The first thing i noticed while playing was the fact exp and level's are gone. Now yes, the exp in alpha was flawed and needed work, but it still gave players a sence progression and allowed them to personalise their character's. Now, there's no real reason to fight anything most of the time (aside from cash and sometimes gear), and now you lost part of the RPG in the game.

The power curve is on crack and needs help.
This game is unbalanced to hell. either you get oneshot by everything, or YOU oneshot everything. without level's, the games balanced is centered around the gear's rarity. For the first hour and a half i played, i couldn't do anything to anyone, since game refused to show a place with my gear level. When i finally cleared a random quest, i was given a legendary sword. For context, my basic sword dealt 4 damage, and the legendary dealt FOKIN 70 DAMAGE, THAT'S ALMOST A 20 TIMES DIFFERENCE. And the worst part is that you NEED legendary gear in order to stand a chance against a regions boss. Legendary gear should feel like a special reward you get, not a mandatory item you need in order to play.

Region locking.
Oh boy, here we go. Clap. SO, as i said at the start, your main goal is to explore different regions, collecting gear and relic's, and repeat the process. Some of these relics include item's ment for traveling, like a boat or handglider. Well, when you enter a new region, you lose all your relic's, and your gear becomes more or less useless.

...WHY??

I understand relic's that's ment to open up new area's and path's would be closed off, but why close of things like the boat, a relic used to help you explore new areas and regions. It goes against what the game is all about, and i can't for the life of me understand why it's like this. As for your gear, you more or less start from scratch every time you enter a region. This is another reason why the removal of level's hurt the game, because without them, the global gear power in the game is based around their rarity.

I worked to get THIS?
Finally, let's talk about artifacts, the main thing you work to get in the game. Every region has atleast one of these (can't confirm if they can have more) and they are locked behind in castles with the hardest enemies. So after you have geared up and beaten one of these places, you finally collect a artifact and you get...

... 2% faster climbing speed.

That's. That's it? I've been playing for a good 4-5 hours in one region, just to get an item that slightly improve my climbing speed. Keep in mind, the base climbing speed is 50%. You won't even notice the effect unless you get stack's of artifact's. All of them give's a very tiny buff to a random stat of yours, none of them being combat related. This doesn't feel like a reward, it feels like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ prank.

So yeah, i think you can see why this game has some... Problems. However, this is nothing that can't be solved. I'm no game dev by any means, and have no contact with the creator, but if i were to fix the game, here's what i would do...

Revisited level system: Give the players exp for doing quests and important mission's in a region, which would allow you to improve your chosen stats every so slightly.
Gear and regions should have a "Power Level": as it currently is, all areas in the game is no different when it comes to how strong enemies are or the kind of loot you would gain. Instead, every region should have a power level to tell how strong a place is, and if you are ready for it. This would make it more appealing to visit new region's, aswell as balance your current gear with the new region. Speaking of...
Remove region lock from gear and traveling relics: I don't need to say much about this. Relic's that acts as key's can stay as they are, but there's no good reason traveling relic's should be locked aswell.
Make artifacts actually worth anything: As they are currently, artifact reward's are not worth the effort. Make them something player's want to collect. Hell, make it legendary gear, would actually make it feel special.

There's alot of other stuff i could talk about the game, both good and bad, but i feel like these things are critical in order to improve the core game. At the moment, Cube World is a game about exploring new world's, but it punish people for exploring, and reward them with barely anything. I'm not making this review to tell it's bad. I'm making it because i want it to be better. Wolley, Pixxie, if you are reading this, please continue improving the game. I hope this can sum up what me and many alpha player's have felt about the game.

Update: Welp, its been 8 months since the game came out and the developers has gone completely dark, so im not expecting any updates at any point.

If you want to play a good version of this game, find a crack of the alpha.

Seeing as Tennocon just happened a few days ago, and has been gathering a lot interests since then, i think it would be a good idea to finally make a review on this thing. I mean i have like, what, 1500 hours on this game, so i think i qualified to talk about this game.

What is this game even
Warframe is a third person PvE loot shooter, where its about collecting resources and items to craft new guns and armor so you can kill things in more ways. You play as a "Warframe", which are basically space ninjas. Each Warframe comes with a set of abilities to make them all special, and their mobility allows them to get across the stages with ease, and will become second nature before you know it.

Whats the bloody goal of the game
Unlike most games, Warframe doesn't have a traditional progression system. All weapons and Warframes can only reach level 30, which you can easily get in a hour or two. However, your total rank (known as mastery rank) only ranks up when you level up new gear, and some items are locked behind a mastery rank. This means that it doesn't take long for new players to reach the highest level with their gear, with encouraging them to try new things as they play the game.

So hows the customization
This is one of warframes strongest points. Pretty much all weapons and Warframe can be modded in any way you like. Wanna make your Warframe super tanky? Or maybe give his abilities alot of power for better damage? Thats all up to you. This makes the game extremely replayable, as you can experiment with different builds for your gear.
You can also change the look of your items for maximum fashion, even as a new people.

It's free to play, meaning it has microtransactions...
Lucky, warframe is one of the very best when it comes to this, Almost all items can be bought from the games shop, but they cost alot compared to how easy some of them are. Its as if the game says: "Look, i get it, you dont wanna work to get that shotgun, but its gonna cost you quite a bit to buy it.." The main you will be buying is instead things like weapon slots, warframe slots, boosters, accessories and so on. Theres also a trading system in the game, and it allows you to trade using the game's premium currency, giving the game its own economy.

Alright, that's good and all, but what are the cons
Even tho i just said the game is "extremely replayable", this is still a loot shooter, meaning there will be grinding at times. Sometimes its not so bad, other times it goes a bit beyone extreme. If games with grinding doesn't suit you at all, maybe you wanna skip this one. But hey, i've over 1000 hours on the game, and im still able to enjoy the game most of the time.

Ze End
So thats my short review of the game. I dont wanna go much more into details since i feel like new players should see it for themself, but this is a basic overview of what kind of game it is, and what you can expect from it. If you like what you hear, then give it a try, its free after all. Now if you will excuse me, i have some Prime items i need to get.

Early Access Review
UPDATE: Good news, it seems like they are removing the card changes from OB64 and replacing it with a more balanced system. Im gonna keep this review up just as a reminder that they can do a 180 at any moment, but im happy to report the game is doing better.

I haven't played this game for the longest time, and i don't plan on doing it as of now. I'm writing this to spread the word to others.

In one of the newest updates (OB64 or whatever its called) Paladins is changing its card system to be more like Star Wars Battlefront 2.

I'm not kidding

Cards will only be available from loot chests, and the decks level caps will be removed. This means new players wont be able to stand a chance online, while longtime players will have no problem dominating.

As of now, you can't use real money to buy this loot chests. But don't be fooled, they will most likely change this later.

I thought games would learn from Star Wars battlefront's mistake, not mimic it.

Note: This review comes from a guy that doesn't really play games for the singleplayer or campaign, so i will only talk about the multiplayer.

Let me just get started off by saying yes, multiplayer can be alot of fun when playing with just friends, and yes, GTA Online has a bunch of cool stuff. However, if you're not willing to ignore all of the games problems, prepare for one of the most grindy and unfair multiplayer modes you will ever play.

This game is basically "The rich get richer and the poor get poorer". Everything thats not a normal car require a ♥♥♥♥ ton of money, and each update only add more expensive stuff. This wouldn't be a problem if getting money wasn't such a slow and painful thing to do. You will only be able to earn good cash AFTER you have millions, and even then, it still takes forever.

The other problem is Sharkcards. Sharkcards are, in short, pay to win, since they give a bunch of cash instantly. This wouldn't really be too bad, if you wasn't able to buy cars with bullet proof glass, tanks you can call for free after you own it, and jet with a machine gun that shoots explosive shots. Because of this, new players has nothing to defend themselfs with when fighting people with these. Oh and if you blow up one of their expensive and overpowered cars, YOU have to pay the damage, because ♥♥♥♥ you.

Finally, there's the recent drama with Take 2 and modders. Ever since the game launched on PC, modders has been everywhere. Since the game is peer to peer good grief modders basically have admin powers, able to do anything to anyone. Sometimes you would meet one of the nice modders, but they are far and between. Something had to be done, and now Take 2 finally steps in and fix it...

By basically saying any type of modding makes you a criminal, singleplayer or multiplayer.

And im not just talking about a ban or anything, i mean they will put you in ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ court for making mods. Don't belive me? Read this.[gtaforums.com]

As of now, the game is only fun if you're playing with your friends and have most of the things unlocked. Don't support these scumbags.
