It's been 45 minutes now trying to find a single game, just to have 1+ people not lock in.

Instead of awarding them a random class and starting the game, it RETURNS YOU TO MAIN MENU just like a League of Legends Draft Game.

The queue system is a nightmare, why does it operate this way?

Why doesn't the game just allow you to select a class, and then once 6 people are found place EVERYBODY into a warm-up match without having EVERYONE having to accept the queue, choose a class, lock in, and pray to GOD the other 5 people can do that too.

Complete creative freedom.

Absolute breeze to program if you have C# and Python experience prior to learning GameMaker Language.

Top down games are so fun to create.

Edit:

After an additional near 1000 hours creating my game...
everything I said before still applies... lol

Early Access Review
Soulstone Survivors, a satisfactory game for its price point.

+ Every achievement in the game has been completed for me bar a few weapon unlocks within 70 hours of gameplay, that is more than acceptable considering its price of $13 CAD.
+ Content felt interesting and challenging up until I finished every map on Curse VII.
+ Rune unlocks were unique and fun to strive towards.

- Upon beating Curse VII on each map, game became very repetitive / redundant material farming spree, even with the 50% bonus material rune on each character
- Specific talent point trees for characters is fun, but an expanded generic talent tree would be more compelling and allow for more build specific investment
- Chaos Golem / Moose minions, pulling aggro from bosses makes the game a cake walk and I was frequently able to complete Curse VII runs on level 1 prestige characters while trying to unlock all achievements.

The game is under currently development and is new, but fundamentally it is a pleasant experience which becomes a dodge-em / bullet hell under higher difficulties. Further development towards the end game and alternate modes would make this game even more enjoyable. Finding a solution towards the material grind to make it less tedious and more in line with the completion of other aspects (runes. characters, map completions) would encourage me to put more hours in.

Game's servers went down due to bad actors allegedly DDOSing them, dev team came back to "fix" the problem by destroying a lot of the functionality of the game, and even then not restoring the servers. Down for over a month while the team "worked" on the problem.

This company has been an incredible disappointment when releasing games and abandoning them, this is just another sign of their commitment to their own brand.
=>

Landfall Games as a development team stands against every rational concept of a successful development company, so many games have they created that have been abandoned whereas a service-style development plan would / could literally cause some of these games to become best sellers globally.

Landfall Games developed Rounds April of 2021, and without any noticeable marketing or attempts to publicise the game, it has garnered 8,100 overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam and a full fledged modding community to help add new content to the game in Landfalls absence.

Totally Accurate Battlegrounds has amassed well over 60,000 positive reviews towards the game with a playerbase of over TRIPLE what was concurrent during the drought that was 2019 TABG, yet the developers made the decision to abandon future development to focus on "other things" instead.

An example of "other things" they mentioned developing is Knightfall: A Daring Journey, a 5-week development process that resulted in an empty shell joke-type game that has poor mechanics, seldom content and a pitiful combat experience, instead of providing additional content to ANY other successful game they own they instead spent 35 days of development on that.

Thanks to confirmation from their Discord, Landfall Games plans on continuing development for their 'golden boy,' Totally Accurate Battle Simulator, a game that has amassed well over 70,000 positive reviews, notice how that's only 10,000 less reviews that TABG, a game they have since fully abandoned.

To summarise this review, I believe the development decisions from Landfall Games fall in the category of passion, and while passion is a phenomenal thing from an indie development team, the potential that Landfall Games has is being repeatedly squandered by poor decisions from a marketing / decision-making standpoint and will be their downfall in the long term. They may continue to be the indie company that develops whatever they want in whatever order they want to, but if they were to slap themselves across the face and open their eyes to the infinite potential that Rounds and Totally Accurate Battlegrounds has, they'd be infinitely more popular.

The game is definitely a noticeable April fools joke, there's a load of questionable development choices even from what was implemented, a few examples are as follows...

1. Map mechanic is just awful, why is this not a full screen pop up? You can't view it on horseback.
2. Roads are much too narrow for any horse manoeuvres, makes drifting frustrating and unfun.
3. The towns and linear structure of the game expects the game to have 20+ players per match, when in reality there will likely be 2 - 4 people per match, leaving many towns empty. One flashy cutscene and some nice renderings from the game engine are all that exist.

I'm not sure what to say, it was a free game, and even then I could only muster 5 games, 1 victory, and a whole lot of frustration before putting it down. Would I recommend it? No, not really. I'd of rather these developers improve previous games like TABG or Rounds, actual good games that have a community.

TLDR: Stop wasting time on goofy unfinished games that cost man-hours and wage pay, and instead spend that time improving Rounds and Totally Accurate Battlegrounds.

This is the only game my friend plays, I think he has a somewhat unhealthy addiction. But that's okay, this game is really fun.

Interest game with some really fun mechanics.
However, it's fundamentally unfun- the game at higher ascensions requires a great deal of luck or cheesy strategic planning.
I simply do not enjoy that kind of game long term.
